3.7 (Aug 19, 2010)
Just downloaded 3.9.6 and tested it with Nano & Touch - worked flawlessly!
Very small and simplistic, allows you to copy to/from your Ipod as well as backing up. If all you want to do is copy media to & from your ipod without Itunes bloat this will do the job - and works with Ipod Touch, something similar apps (Yamipod, Floola) can't do.
The main point of this program is to free your Ipod - remember, your Ipod is married to the PC you installed Itunes on. If you go to a friend's house and load Itunes, it will erase all your media. Sharepod works without itunes allows you to use your Ipod on any PC. Before I discovered Sharepod I downloaded a trial of 3herosoft Ipod transfer and it wiped my ipod touch! Itumes was able to restore from a backup, about 2 hours ugh!! so you need to be careful which program you use with Ipod Touch.
New website for Sharepod:

7.0.3.6 Beta (Aug 6, 2010)
The beta version is free for a limited time - I set my clock 6 months ahead and I tried to start the program it said "this version is too old, go download newer version" so this beta will expire soon. This program performs essentially the same functions as Slysoft's AnyDVD which I have used since 2006. It sits in the system tray and will scan any DVD/BR disc you insert and remove copy protection on-the-fly. In other words all the discs you insert appear as non-copy protected and region free to your OS and video players/rippers. Of course you will still need a separate prog for shrinking/burning or converting for portable media player.
I am a heavy users of DVD Fab Platinum since it is an all-in-one solution that does the decrypting/shrinking/converting/burning for you so I can't see myself recommending this unless it does something that AnyDVD doesn't.

As a longtime user of MP3Tag I decided to see what all the fuss is about. I was pleasantly surprised. I am not a big fan of skins either but the default one was easy to use. Has pretty much the same functions as MP3Tag (Album art, playlists, copy tag to/from filename, export to htm/csv, is portable etc.). It's a matter of preference (which GUI you are more comfortable with). Both are highly recommended for managing ID TAG info for your media files.

I'im still a user of 3.x but it's sad to hear that there are still issues burning DVDs with this otherwise fine app.
There is an option that allows you to write the converted video(s) to folders (VIDEO_TS) on your hard drive. I then use NERO or IMGBURN to burn the output to a DVD video and have absolutely no problems playing/copying the resultant DVD.
Not an elegant but nonetheless functional solution. Hopefully they will fix the burning issue in future releases but after reading others' comments I think I will stay with 3.x for now.

I have to agree with the other reviewers here. Best notepad for Windows replacement. Like notepad, it is small, fast, and light but also portable. I too have replacled the native notepad app with this on all my Windows boxes and keep it handy on my USB flash drive.

Sadly there really isnt anything worth watching. Too much 'reality TV' and other filler material (what idiot still watches 'American Idol'?).
Here's a very unsurprising study that found that unhappy people watch a lot of TV:

Aside from college sports and NFL TV is an electronic sleeping pill for me.
I just go out a lot because there's a lot of garbage on the world wild web as well.

I'm not sure about other service providers but I am a T-Mobile customer and have had all my phones unlocked whenever my contract came up for renewal and was sent a new phone. All you need to do is call customer service and tell them you are going out of the country and want to use your phone somewhere they have no service such as Venezuela. They will walk you through unlocking process. I don't know if they are required by law to do this or they simply do it as a courtesy. I am very happy with TMob right now because I get good service in my area but if I move and want to switch my phone will already be unlocked. I hate locked phones.
@Owilliams:
I agree. Only parents are impacted by these excessive messaging charges because kids practically live off text messaging/AIM. It's much much faster to dial the phone and talk with someone than it is to message back and forth. I mostly send text as a replacement for leaving a voice mail since that comes up right on your phone instead of having to dial your mailbox and listening to a garbled message.
