  1. Review - Diskeeper 2011 Professional

    13.0.835-t (Dec 15, 2008)

Diskeeper 2008 Pro user since it was released last year, and now currently trying out the 2009 Pro version on XP.
To cut a long story short: DK 2009 Pro is awesome. The defrag engine has been tweaked some more, and is blazing fast. Defrags all three drives at the same time, without bringing the system down to a crawl. One of the non-system drives had only 7% free space, but DK 2009 managed to defrag it fully without breaking into a sweat. Not many defraggers can do that.
Finally, a welcome inclusion of file placement algorithms in the 2009 Pro edition.
This is the best defragger I've used. Highly recommended!

In my opinion, the best defragmenter on the market today. Better than Perfectdisk or O&O because it runs more smoothly, has a much better GUI, and has the best automatic defragmentation function by far. PD/OO make claims about free space 'optimization' etc, but I never noticed any improvement after trying out those. And they still don't match the low resource usage, fast defragment time or the intelligent automatic mode of Diskeeper.

Are they going to fix the defragger performance apart from merely allowing volume selection? I don't like the Vista defragger at all, so I have Diskeeper Pro on the Vista business workstation at my lab. It's a world apart from the Vista defragger in terms of control and performance.

At home, I wouldn't dare put Vista on my gaming machine. Only XP has a place on it for the forseeable future lol.

    Apologies. Double posted.
