  1. Review - SkyIDE

    Beta 8 (Nov 20, 2006)

    Way to go!

I like free IDEs, since that seems to be where innovation comes from anymore with the commercial IDEs (someone has to do something first).

I haven't tried this yet, but can it do Windows Mobile compilation?

  2. Review - Skinny Clock

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 20, 2006)

It's neat. However without a good variety in color this is difficult to see when you have a dark background. I like the direction, but I ned more color options, for a dark or light background (custom color would be great).

Its only beta so I hope the author adds a bit more so I can bump up my rating, but its unusable for me right now.

  3. Comment - Mozilla boots to promises with browser OS proposal

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 26, 2011 - 10:02 AM)

All companies have future goals, which amount to "What are we going to do tonight, Brain? We're going to take over the world!". This is a great idea in some respects, and horrible in another respect. The browser as a platform will only work if a new programming language is introduced that has strong typing and has the ability to be compiled. Java never had low-level support, because multi-platform driver support is not easy. Yeah sure there are some ..ahem.. great Javascript programmers, but honestly I don't want Javascript near my devices. If they did that, my number one option would be to TURN that OFF.

  4. Comment - Take control of batch files with WinAPIExec

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 13, 2011 - 5:10 PM)

This is awesome, thanks for the info on this application, it'll be very useful.

I wish Beta News would do many more articles like this, on software again!

  5. Comment - Smartphones and tablets are only good for unimportant tasks, says survey

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 11, 2011 - 5:56 PM)

    Agreed...bad article.

  6. Comment - Microsoft sells 400 million licenses for Windows 7

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 11, 2011 - 5:15 PM)

I like Windows 7. Its been very stable, fast, and capable of running applications I use. Just goes to show you, if you make a product really well, people will notice.

  7. Comment - Google cleans up YouTube, and it looks really good!

    1.0 Beta 2 (Jul 8, 2011 - 1:06 PM)

As long as they make sure the video streams at a decent rate if you have a good, fast connection, I'll take any additional eye-candy on the site. But, they have to realize, videos are why people are there, and that's the most important thing they can do, ensure smooth watchable videos.

They could remove VeVo too, I wouldn't complain :)
