  1. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.6.2.4 (Mar 3, 2010)

As usual, works as advertised, dispite the naysayers.

  2. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.5.6.3 Beta (Jul 7, 2009)

Chadamus, I've just gotten to where I automatically skip over anything posted by Dude. I asked him back in Feb to explain the actual problem he was having, especially with Lightscribe, since I've never experienced anything but satisfaction from AnyDVDHD. He never chose to actually answer and continues to just rant. Now just consider him inconsequential. I just wish Betanews would add a feature where we,could select to block/ignore his silly rants.

That said AnyDVD does exactly what it claims and I'm greatful for the app.

  3. Review - DivX for Windows

    7.2.0 (Jun 3, 2009)

Well I haven't played around with 7.2 much but a couple of annoyances have been fixed.

With 7.1 after the install when it opened a browser window in IE8 the video would start to play with some video abnormalities and after a few seconds cause the browser to crash. With version 7.2 this no longer happens.

The other annoyance was whenever you ran the "Check for updates" even if you had the latest version installed it would say there was 1 new update. This too has been fixed.

Edit to Rotjong (sp) I'm using it on Win 7 RC x64 with no problems so far.

  4. Review - AnyDVD HD

    6.5.2.3 Beta (Feb 17, 2009)

I have found this to be a very reliable program that does just what it says it will do. One nice thing is when I try to play bluray dvd's on my computer I used to get "This computer ins't HDTV" issues and they wouldn't play. This app elliminates the issue for me. Sadly they did change the purchasing plan a little while ago but they gave everyone advance notice so they could buy or get the program before the changes took place and then even extended the deadline

  5. Comment - Earth to Europe: You won. Microsoft complied. Live with it.

    6.5.2.3 Beta (Jun 13, 2009 - 8:19 AM)

Sheesh, first they complain its unfair of MS to bundle its own browser with the install. So MS decides okay we''ll just avoid the whole mess with Win7 and just not bundle a browser and let the user pick what they want and the EU whines thats not fair either.

    You just cant please people

  6. Comment - Top 10 Windows 7 Features #3: XP Mode

    6.5.2.3 Beta (May 28, 2009 - 12:36 AM)

Actually I like the feature I don't use it much but I have several apps that like to load virtual x32 drivers and the company that made the software has no plans to make an x64 bit version of the app or drivers. Before this nice feature the best way I found to get things to work was by creating a multi-boot system. Now thats no longer nessisary. At least with XP VM I'm able to run the programs with absolutly no problems.

  7. Comment - Windows 7 to include 'XP mode' virtualization

    6.5.2.3 Beta (Apr 27, 2009 - 7:12 PM)

Hummm, wonder if this means I would be able to run the one app I really like thats only compatible with XP or Vista 32 bit on a x64 Win7 system

  8. Comment - New Internet Explorer 8 secures, slices, smokes

    6.5.2.3 Beta (Mar 19, 2009 - 9:09 AM)

I use Vista Ultimate x64 which comes with both x32 and x64 versions of IE7. Will I need to manually download both the x32 and x64 bit versions of IE8 or is there an ETA on when it will show up on Windows Update
