Demo (May 15, 2001)
I though there was already a demo out. The game has been out for quite a while now. Either you already have the game by now or have no itention of playing it.

I dont know if anyone else had the same problem but when I tried doing anything OpenGL with the 7.17 drivers nvopengl.dll bit the dust. (Counter-Strike for example)

I'm no longer following this site on my RSS feed reader, just like gawd21 hinted at. The value of content written by Joe is worthless. This article could have been written without possessing a Cr-48 and could have been summarized in one or two paragraphs. I read his posts just to see how much everyone else teases him. You can only do that for so long before you realize you're wasting you're time. That's why I stopped following Digg and Reddit. Joe's comment about his Air feeling faster than the Cr-48 shows his complete lack of knowledge regarding computer hardware. If that wasn't the case then Apple would be in serious trouble. You're brand new smart phone is probably faster than the Cr-48. Best of luck with the site!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see what the benefit is from doing this. Maybe it's because of people like me that the wave your credit card pay service is not super popular. If I replace my credit cards with my phone, I still have to carry my wallet for my drivers license, membership cards, etc. So what have I really gained? Looks like they're trying to optimize the part of the transaction that takes 5% of the time and possibly reducing it by half if they're lucky (so save 2.5%). If it's online payments couldn't something like google checkout or paypal be used in that case? Not to mention retailer costs. Am I missing some cool feature here?

Wow, there are so many errors in this article.

Unless they can do all that on Linux, they're no help to me. I doubt I'd ever call them anyways.

Wine is simply an implementation of the Windows API. It doesn't emulate anything other than loading PE-COFF files. The best way to think of it is wrapping each .dll file inside a linux .so library then linking these libraries to the application are runtime, like you would gtk or any other library. Degradation in performance comes from converting DX calls into OpenGL calls, which isn't too bad.
