Straight from the Google Blog, "And because it runs on a carefully tested version of Wine, Picasa avoids the slowing effects of an OS emulation or a virtual machine."
Nice try but if you're going to release a Linux program, then don't make it require a Windows Emulator.

For the person who gave this a 1, my #1 suggestion is to first learn how to use a computer then learn how to properly rate programs. You cannot blame this program for having to reinstall Windows. For God's sake I'm pretty sure that it doesn't even install anything on your system. You make yourself look like an idiot with your comment and rating. This is a very useful and respectable program.

Norton AV, Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition, Adobe Reader 7, RealPlayer, and Trillian? I'm a bit dissappointed in Google actually. I was hoping to see avast! Home Edition, Spybot - Search & Destroy, Foxit Reader, K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (Need to drop illegal registration code), and Gaim. I don't mind the inclusion of other programs if you get to select what you want to install, but most of them are bloated pieces of crap. Anyway, I'll give this a higher rating when they include the better, free alternatives.

Cingular's service is better? Obviously you don't have any idea how corrupt that company is. I used to sell Cingular, and after dealing with their customer service I was in disbelief at how much they lie. I'm still waiting for the Enron-twin corrupt company to be investigated for every unethical standard there is. Search their website for code of ethics or a city-level coverage map. They are liars, theives, and everyone in my area agrees. Hope you don't plan on using your Cingular service outside a large city or major interstate, because you'll get so frustrated. They sell their service in my city, and you can't even get reception here. After several attempts to calling into their customer service and office of the president, I have finally decide to sue the company for failure to provide service since they can't let an unhappy customer out of their contract. I have the actual number for the President if anyone wants to try to contact him. Although Verizon can be strict on their policy, they treat you like humans and their service actually works where they say it works.
