10.1 Alpha 2 (May 28, 2005)
This is the best of its kind, if you don't like IE base stop complaining and use Firefox or something else, but if you know how to maintain a Windows system you will value this browser.
10.0.114 Beta (Jan 31, 2005)
What is all of this whining about "too many beta releases" and "not a good browser because its based on IE" nonsense? Maybe more people would download Firefox if there weren't so many elitist attitudes in that community of users. Internet Explorer has flaws, but they are fixed regularly, and believe it or not, some people actually NEED, not LIKE, the ability to use ActiveX without trying to find a million plugins.
But this review is not about Internet Explorer, its about Avant Browser, which functions as a shell for IE. It provides easy access to everything, and includes ad-blocking, popup blocks, on/off switches for Java/Flash/Video/Sounds/Scripts etc. This is a great value especially if you do not want to be stuck downloading Firefox on a Windows machine.
Thank you Avant Browser.
1.0.501 Beta 1 (Jan 6, 2005)
This is the same program as Giant AntiSpyware. So much for "innovation". And by the time they are done with it it'll have product activation, mess up all other free anti-spyware scanners, and crash to desktop whenever you do something intelligent.
It gets a 3 since it works, but thats only because it worked before they bought it out.
1.0.501 Beta 1 (Jul 11, 2007 - 7:48 AM)
Also, the PS3 is truly a next generation console. Next generation to the point that we are still waiting for games that even use the hard drive to come out. It seems like this is the PS3's biggest obstacle. XBOX 360 and the Nintendo Wii have loads of games coming out, but for the PS3 we have yet to see something truly amazing. However, because of PS3's hardware, this is inevitable...
1.0.501 Beta 1 (Jul 11, 2007 - 7:45 AM)
Before everyone freaks out there is a real reason they are removing the chip. Their software emulation has become much better and they do not even need the chip to emulate old games. The PS3 will still be backward compatible.
1.0.501 Beta 1 (Dec 11, 2006 - 5:08 AM)
What is wrong with activating the software? They are trying to prevent software piracy, which is costing their company billions of dollars a year. When you buy software you do not own the original master copy of the software in the companies basement. You are purchasing a LICENSE AGREEMENT to use the software...
1.0.501 Beta 1 (Dec 11, 2006 - 5:05 AM)
This is so stupid to pirate this... if you want to make some argument about overpriced software, etc, is one thing. But lets be straight here. If you don't want to spend money for a premium operating system, there are free alternatives. And if there is one thing you should be willing to spend cash on is the PC's OS... I don't get these stupid download kiddies.

Microsoft is a business. Their goal is to sell their software. Who cares if they are trying to make people buy expensive computers.. thats what Microsoft has been doing since the 1980s.
