2009 (16.5.0.134) (Mar 24, 2009)
Symantec has been putting out cr@p for years but I must say the 2009 products are awesome! Easy on resources, easy to manage, and quietly does it's job without nagging me. Good job! I just switched from NOD32 to Norton 2009. Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This new version rocks! Very fast. Missing a few bells and whistles but it's getting close. All I really need is some password manager for the Windows version and I'd consider switching from Firefox.
Definitely worth a test drive. Beats IE hands down.

Don't believe the hype! Fairly decent program for someone like me that wants to use my computer not fix and maintain it. Similar performance hit as comparable products, less of a performance hit than Nortons but that's not saying much.
Overall works well, the scheduled backup and defrag are nice for Vista Home/Media version.Worth the price for 3 pc license.
Avoiding viruses is more about safe surfing than software. Don't be fooled, any and all software programs can be hacked. Be smart and you'll have nothing to worry about.

I agree! If people stay away from porn and warez sites they won't have problems with exploits, spyware and viruses. I haven't had any of these problems in my 10+ years either.
If I did ALL my email via web mail I probably wouldn't run anti virus software at all. Surf safe, keep both hands on the keyboard!
