1.40 Beta 9 (Oct 20, 2001)
I have been running this with all my boxes. I LOVE it. Works well on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. If you're looking for skins, www.DeviantArt.com has some.
1.6 (Oct 20, 2001)
While DVDx has a nice, easy to use, user interface. It's final product is not the greatest. I was getting huge audio/video sync errors and actually the audio would drop out every once in awhile. This could be my system. I have a Celeron 400. I can't wait to see this program progress as it looks like a promising app.
6.0.2600.0 Final (Sep 3, 2001)
Ok, the browsing experience is fine. But, I found HUGE problem with IE6. I can't view my "folders" anymore. All that i get is a big grey area where my folders should be. Also, i can't even get to "add/remove programs" anymore. Great upgrade =P:: I want to cry now. Looks like i'll be using an explorer substitute till this is patched. I haven't heard of anyone else having these problems, so i think it must be because i'm a litestep user as well. MS must have added things to not support 3rd party shells. As for the browsing and other things... not really different from ie 5, can't believe the version #'s get so bloated.
1.6.609 Beta (Aug 28, 2001)
I LOVE this program. I would say it's THE best software i've used for databasing of mp3s and the tag rename editor is simply great! If this program was free, I'd for sure use it.
2.0 Beta 18 (Jun 22, 2001)
I dig it, but I have some suggestions. It needs to be able to read ID3V1.1 tags so it can get track numbers. Then there needs to be a way to name files with what you want, instead of only allowing "artist - trackname". I suggest a system where a text box accpets a freeform naming scheme with variables to represent things such as: %a = artist name, %t = track number, %s = song title, and I suppose %b = album title. Then users could define how they want their mp3s named. I prefer "%a - %t - %s.mp3" under a folder named by "%a - %b" but that's just me. Oh yeah, and multiple file renaming would be a plus. For people with large mp3 collections, it's not practical to have to click every mp3 they want to rename.
Also, it uses 5megs of ram. I know that's not a lot, but I believe it is for a little app. Enough so that I only open it when I need to do mp3 renaming ;)
I look forward to new releases!
