  1. Review - MPEG Audio Collection

    2.90 (May 2, 2002)

It's average. This program could've been better. I miss the ability to export my catalog to HTML or TXT format. It's just not there. =( Additionally, I have MP3s stored in sub-paths. Instead of listing all of my MP3s together as a single list, it dumps the sub-path MP3s into a sub-list. That stinks. It's a nice program, but ultimately very limited in its usefulness.

  2. Review - FreeWire

    2.3.1 (Mar 29, 2002)

Excellent. All of the power of LimeWire and none of the spyware.

The only downside is that it's an "Active Installer". That means you have to setup from the `net. It downloads a temp file called "freewiredist.exe" that does the actual setup. Unfortunately, it deletes the file right after installation.

NEAT TRICK..... If you can quickly save this file from the installation directory before it's deleted (have to be quick) then you won't have to go through the hassle of being online everytime you install. BTW, freewiredist.exe alone contains NONE of the optional spyware. Save that and you're 100% spy free.

To Frewire Developers: Give us a version that we can just save and install offline. PLEASE!!!! It was a hassle saving that temp exe file. Some people like to archive their software. You make it impossible (almost).
