I'm not seeing all the high CPU utilization mentioned here.
I removed CIS because of the bloat/impact of late and moved over to OA because of the high ratings. I DID take the time up front to configure it correctly. The initial learning phase for things like unregistered "portable" apps on the system is minimal if you answer the questions correctly.
7.5 (Jun 4, 2007)
Been installing the upgrades to v7.4 now (XP Pro, X1600Pro, genuine ATI) successfully. V7.5 - went on, no display at all on the LCD after reboot. Wouldn't even come up in safe mode - bizarre. Connected it to a CRT and could at least get an image - at which point I uninstalled all v 7.5 ATI components, reconnected to the LCD and reinstalled v7.4 successfully.
Not impressive, glad I had the previous version on hand.

Essentially it is the best browser out there for anyone who wants to take the time to learn it. This is the biggest problem for a lot of people. The built-in features (error & java consoles, ctrl-j feature, editable search.ini, mouse gestures etc etc) are very advanced, considering the size of the package. It's fast, and most important today, it's secure. Check out scunia.com if you doubt that. Fully customizable interface. Any browser is better than IE (used v7 yet? -much laughter). I see a lot of end users who browse with Opera for the first time get intimidated by it - "it's not like the other one". Lame excuse. Check it out, it's worth the time.

Agreed on pretty much all counts. The new system is buggy to boot. They should have increased the free quota to 500m or so, limited the attachment size accordingly, and ditched the "retention" (deleted after 30 days no-login) requirements.
