No support for shn files - boo hiss from the live music trading community.

  2. Review - SirCam Remover

    (Jul 30, 2001)

Not a review of the program, as I recognized the double file extension as being trouble from the get go, but I do want to correct something - the virus/worm DOES NOT use Outlook or OE to resend its payload, as it has its own built in email client. It DOES use the Windows address book, which Outlook and OE also use.

  3. Comment - Network Solutions to Sell Domain Database Information

This on top of the fact that they are sitting on thousands of names whose registry period has expired months/years ago, and they refuse to release them for further registry. They hide behind the excuse that they need to give former registrants suffucient time to reply via the postal service before re-releasing them. Come on, I thought this was the age of instant transactions, renewals, and cancellations.

  4. Comment - FCC Approves AOL/Time Warner Merger

Hasn't it always been a concern in the past that providers of internet content are seperate from internet access providers? I wonder why the sudden shift? This certainly smells of monopolistic business practices. As a Road Runner user, the only broadband available in my area, I will be keeping a close eye on what changes come to my service area once (if) the merger is final and complete.

  5. Comment - Hard Drive Technology Protects Copyrighted Material

    (Dec 26, 2000 - 4:53 PM)

This is complete crap and a violation of the rights you get when you buy copyrighted material. You do have the right to make copies of such material - for yourself only. A case in point is that I make mixed CD's for my CD player at work, all from CD's that I purchased and still own. I work in an environment where I don't care if my .50 CDR gets scratched, but would be pissed if my overpriced CD's got scratched. This seems like something that just won't fly. And isn't it odd that the manufacturer of probably the most pirated software (Windows and MS games) is against this initiative? You'd think that they would jump right onto the bandwagon if this was worth half a $hit.

  6. Comment - Warm Apples Anyone?

Great googlymoogly !! You mean that there might actually be some kind of a problem with a Mac? To hear the Mac users I know talk, the Mac is capable of walking on water, perfect in every way.

  7. Comment - Iomega Beta Testers Wanted

...why I stopped visiting here. While there are some posters who have intelligent comments to make about the betas being posted, the majority of them are brainless children who have nothing better to do than use this place as a venue for their off-topic, pointless rants. The exchange below is a perfect example of this.
