  1. Review - Halite

    0.3 RC (Dec 28, 2007)

Ehh it's pretty decent. In all honesty, the best features it has going for it is that it has the potential to be very good and it's not utorrent. If utorrent wasn't bought out, the ratings for this program would be much lower.

  2. Review - OpenOffice.org for Windows

    2.3.0 (Sep 17, 2007)

It still runs a bit slower than I think it should and the interface needs to be touched up in a few places. However, other than that, they've made tremendous progress. A worthy competitor to MS Office.

  3. Review - WavPack

    4.42 Alpha (Sep 14, 2007)

Underrated format. In my experience, it compresses faster and better than FLAC.

  4. Review - ReactOS

    0.3.3 RC2 (Sep 5, 2007)

Interesting project! Nice to see some solid progress going.

  5. Review - ClamWin Free Antivirus

    0.91.2 (Aug 23, 2007)

Another piece of software that gets over-rated just because it's open source. Real-time protection and scanning speed aside, ClamAV has a weak virus signature database. It detected 53% of viruses while most AV programs score at least 90% using the same test set.

EDIT: In response to the review above, read my first sentence clearly. I just wrote that it was rated higher than it should be because it is open source. I use a lot of open-source software, I'm just pointing out that they tend to be overrated because their fanboys are especially fervent... such as yourself. Funny you're the one claiming I have an agenda when you wrote a mini essay right there. By the way, next time you're trying to make a point, do not cite a TABLOID (not an opinion - a fact, do your research) like The Register as a source.

  6. Comment - Blockbuster proposes 'exclusive' content, devices in Circuit City bid

    0.91.2 (Apr 14, 2008 - 1:11 PM)

Where did Blockbuster dig up the money for this? And buying Circuit City? I guess they're looking for a quick death.

  7. Comment - Lenovo Not Giving Up on Packard Bell Yet

    0.91.2 (Sep 26, 2007 - 3:11 AM)

Yeah this is stupid. PB had a terrible reputation in the computer industry. Their fascination with this company name is definitely a headscratcher.

  8. Comment - Sony: Celebrities Like the PlayStation 3

    0.91.2 (Nov 10, 2006 - 4:35 PM)

"David Arquette, Nick Cannon, James Franco, Nicole Richie, and, of course, Paris and Nicky HIlton"

Oh come on. Does anybody care about what these people think about anything? These people are either hardly celebrities or famous just for being famous.
