  1. Review - DirCheck

    0.2.0.20 Beta (May 3, 2001)

Definetly does what it says it will do. Quick on the stick and small footprint.

However, I am mystified as to how it does it's checksums and bytes. My test included a directory of 33 backups.
I ran dircheck and created an uncompressed checksum.
I removed one backup from the group and ran the executable.
While it noticed and identified the file, it was off by 3,000 bytes in the report.

Test conducted under Win98 SE with 64 MB RAM. Files varied from 100k to 2.5 MB volumes. Purpose was to act as second check for backup integrity.

  2. Review - X-NetStat Standard

    5.0 Beta 1 (May 3, 2001)

The program seems nice and light, but it only detected my Novell bindery connections nor did not see my Microsoft share connections. Would be good for low impact or home systems or quick diagnostic for port programmers.
