  1. Review - BitComet (32-bit)

    0.58 (May 8, 2005)

Great release, for a great BitTorrent Client. It could only beat by Azereus and then only if Az was coded in C++ instead of Java. To qw3rty: BC++ had this feature before Az, only they call it "Peer info exchange".

  2. Review - MP3 Surround for Windows

    1.0 (Dec 6, 2004)

I think too many people are commenting on the quality of the songs themselves and not the quality mp3s proposes. The demo songs are crummy garage band songs, with terrible acoustics and ranges. However hearing the music fade from ear to ear is awesome in itself. I love surround audio (see the d3 plugin for winamp), and I hope it soon becomes the standard.

  5. Comment - Gates Officially Announces WindowsXP

    9.0.58 (Feb 14, 2001 - 9:04 PM)

    Better intro to XP ::cough::

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/

Although not technical in nature, (and while the other URL just introduces those who have an interest in coding on the new platform), this is a good intro for those of us who look for the eye candy in it all :)

  6. Comment - Sega Gives Up Dreamcast for Set-top Venture

    9.0.58 (Feb 14, 2001 - 8:59 PM)

While it may be "compatible" with existing dreamcast titles, the latest reports on the unit say that it will not include any type of GD-ROM/CD-ROM player. And you will download the games. I dont know about you but it seems like a huge waste to me. Especially for those of us who already have the games. While they will be creating "episodic" style games for the Set-top, it should have a GD-ROM. Especially considering the $500-$600+ pricetag. So does beta-news actually have quality reporting anymore?

  7. Comment - Microsoft Releases Bonus Pack for Windows Media Player

    9.0.58 (Dec 5, 2000 - 3:20 PM)

BetaNews forgot to include the detail which made the article easily misconcieved, and the fact that they misquoted a press release is pretty sad..

  8. Comment - Microsoft Releases Bonus Pack for Windows Media Player

    9.0.58 (Dec 5, 2000 - 3:19 PM)

even though I wasn't asked I do agree,
"Millward Brown shows that three out of four digital media users prefer Windows Media Player 7 to RealPlayer 8 and RealJukebox 8."
although I never use WMP7 in favor of xanim, or WMP6 it still is better than realplayer 8 imo
