  1. Review - Opera for Windows

    9.52 Build 10108 (Aug 22, 2008)

Was using Opera back in the paid 6.x days then switched to Firefox. The Opera folks really have put together a very good browser in the 9.5x version. Opera seems faster and more responsive than Firefox. I'm back with Opera for now.

  2. Review - Koma-Mail

    3.58 (Nov 11, 2006)

I really like this little program, a little hard to setup initially, but not too hard once you get used to it. I switched from Firefox/Thunderbird to Opera, but I don't like the Opera's mail so I use this instead. The update feature is strange as you have to backup the database and use converter.exe to update the main program (or so I read). I'm sure these oddities will be addressed in the future. Well worth a donation.

    + small
    + no install
+ preview email header on server for delete or download

  3. Review - Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows XP

    7.0 Final (Oct 18, 2006)

What am I getting here thats 3 times the size of Firefox without all the customizing ability? A new target for the virus and trojan boys...Pass

  4. Review - RipIt4Me

    1.5.0.0 (Oct 6, 2006)

I've liked this program since 1.0.0.0 as it uses all my oldtime favorites DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink as well as FixVTS. Great logging so you can see what is happening and to also send problems to the author. ***** stars

  5. Review - neroLite

    0.1 Alpha (Jul 14, 2006)

it's up to alpha 1.2 now...

I can't find an instruction file for it, I love the idea, but I am one of the ignorant ones who can't figure out how to make it work, anyone?

  6. Comment - Class action lawsuit charges President, NSA with illegal surveillance

    0.1 Alpha (Sep 22, 2008 - 8:28 PM)

I might be wrong but I thought the rules only applied to Domestic-to-Domestic calls. Domestic-to-International calls with those on a list of suspects were ok to tap. Just curious if I understood the problem correctly.

The members of terrorist groups are well versed in the art of filing lawsuits using their intermediaries.

Interesting that the problem occurred in a city known for harboring anyone that hates the U.S. and also is a sanctuary city for illegal aliens of all types. What a place San Fransisco is.

  7. Comment - UK law firm looks to begin prosecuting file sharers

    0.1 Alpha (Aug 22, 2008 - 10:38 AM)

Sad to see socialism/marxism/communism has reached this level of intensity. Property rights are meaningless to so many people. Governments have no respect for property rights as demonstrated by taking your labor through taxation to redistribute it to those who won't get off their butts and they pass this mentality on through the education systems. Everyone is "entitled" to the fruits of YOUR labors. I'm not arguing over the rights and wrongs of how they prosecute those who do the downloading, just the mentality of the people at all levels of society that believes in the "entitlement" mentality and lack of respect for property rights.

  8. Comment - 'Highly Critical' Flaw in Firefox 2.0

    0.1 Alpha (Jul 12, 2007 - 6:52 AM)

I patched my own system by using XPLite and uninstalled IE, and just to make sure, OE.

  9. Comment - RIAA's Suit Against Mom Fails, So it Sues Kids

    0.1 Alpha (Nov 2, 2006 - 11:36 PM)

Between Netflix screwing customers and RIAA filing lawsuits, this whole pile of crap is getting beyond absurdity, it is like trying to stop drinking and smoking pot, give it a rest. Everyone will do what humans will do. It isn't left, right, liberal, conservative, muslim, christian, there are certain things in life that are given and these morons may as well accept this unless they plan on putting 5+ billion people in prison for all these "human nature" related events. People want to get stoned, drunk, watch movies and listen to music whether they can afford it or not. No laws or prisons will change that nor will any amount of copy protection schemes, theres always a smarter human out there. As a right wing, republican, captitalist thinking person I understand the need for ownership and rights to personal property, I understand the need to protect the rights of those who create products (not reproduce them), however I feel most of this is a war of the middlemen, not the actual product creators, that results in the crap we witness, for example, as was said in BraveHeart, those who fight over the scraps from Longshanks tables. Burp, sorry I drank too much tonight.

  10. Comment - Microsoft to Issue 11 Security Patches

    0.1 Alpha (Oct 6, 2006 - 3:04 PM)

rbailin, download nLite and create your own installation disk. I downloaded all the patches/updates and add them to the nLite build, then when new patches arrive I just update the nLite build with the new patches. Use DVD-RW so you don't waste disks. It also lets you do a fully automated installation so you can start the install and have no need for input during the install.
