Great product, though it should NOT be on this site as it is not software per-se, and it has its very own distribution site at www.joomla.org

The other problem is that IOS users actually buy apps, android users as a general rule do not (regardless of pirated apps being available or not)
That is largely down to demographics of device owners and has little or nothing to do with the platform (beyond who is attracted to the platform in terms of buying the device)
And the reason for this is entirely Google's doing or lack of doing I should say.. because google does not give a rat's a** if you buy apps, or not.. they just want the demographic data and advertising eyeballs of having users linking phones to desktop etc..
Apple wants to sell hardware..
The 2 approaches are vastly different and they show.. dumping all the excess cash they take in from app sales into advertising and improving infrastructure for the Itunes juggernaut..works..
Google's app store and fragmentation even among marketplaces means they cannot even turn that ship around if they want to without rethinking the whole system from teh ground up..

This will go no further than active desktop did..
Until/Unless MS decides to fully break with the old model and break backwards compatibility.. they will still have *most* apps following the same win32 API thats been around for decades..
So yes they will have this "beautiful looking touch UI" and winphone 7/wintablets/windows desktips can run what are essentially pure widgets as a screensaver.. but as soon as you need to do *ANYTHING* you will be thrown back to the same windows we have all seen/used since 95..
I understand *WHY* they are scared to fully break with the old and go revolutionary (if your making that sort of choice as a user, you are just as likely to switch to an alternative OS such as linux/osx or whatever.. as you are to just buy the "upgrade") but just slapping active desktop on top of windows 7 is *not* gonna work long term any better than Active Desktop did..

Here we are with software that ... requires... you to agree to install it...
Thanks have a nice day....
You cannot code your way out of users being stupid.. If you agree to install the damn software then its YOUR fault.. and it doesn't matter what OS your running, or what anti-XXX software you have installed, or how many security updates you have done..
The *only* protection for incidents such as this would be a curated app install process that would ONLY allow installs from a single verified source.. (much like the IOS app store)
Keep in mind that this malware is *only* notable in that it targets windows AND os x.. it could just as easily have targeted any flavor of unix/linux hell it could have targeted android or windows mobile or symbian..
For all the trash talking people like you do with comments like this:
The problem is, Apple advertise their mac machines as virus free, almost like its impossible for them to get a virus. Most of the mac users will be quite happy to agree with Mr Jobs when they're told that.
The policy at Apple has not resulted in near 100% infection rates among Mac users .. which given the exposure of this attempt.. should have been what was expected... But since they are actually setup to NOT have a false sense of security (AV/AM/AS software) to rely on.. they do know that if they are not actively installing something.. they should NOT click "ok" when asked to install something.
What I would love to see is someone show me a system that allows arbitrary software installs (by users) that somehow would magically protect against a user agreeing to install malicious software when prompted to do so... without also preventing them from installing software they intended to install.

... where do you see MGS in that list? other than the handful of card games that ship with the phones (similar to solitaire/minesweeper on desktop) ?
The rest of that list are all independant of MS.. though the game list is largely made up of Xbox Live Arcade games repurposed for winphone 7

B) recovery mode forcing install of factory firmware != bricked
C) this affects normal users in no way shape or form
