1.5 Beta 8 (Dec 12, 2008)
All of AOL software is Beta. Who would ever put a RC on crap. Last desktop for Mac was bad and this one is no better. Who really needs AOL software running on their computer? Even if some of the few who still use AOL, why even bother with the software? A good web browser like Safari or Firefox will run much better and use less resources.

It works better on Mac OS10 then on Windows. The UI does not work with Windows in my opinion. Firefox did a much better job incorporating their browser into the Windows UI. Even Safari does not work with Vista Aero?? Why not Apple?? Sorry Apple but this to me is a half hearted attempt to port Safari to Windows. I would have expected better from Apple.

BitCoin is another open source project. When are people going to learn that open source is open to everyone. Including malware people who want to find a way to gain access to your information.

All I can say is good luck with that. Maybe HP you should introduce a couple of products with WebOS on it to see if people even want it?
Personally, I would be surprised with developers busy with Android and Apple's IOS that anybody will even care to develop much for WebOS. You know the old saying three's a crowd. Kind of like how Linux never caught on on PC's with Apple's Mac and Windows pretty much taking care of the computer OS market.

I have to agree with you. My wife really likes her Nook Color. Web surfing is pretty good and its really a better reader because of its size. Much easier to carry with you then a iPad. I think many will get burned trying to replace a notebook with a Tablet. Although they are nice second or third devices to a computer. They cannot replace one.

I bought my wife a Nook Color and she really likes it. If your a reader you want something smaller and lighter then a iPad. Even the iPad 2. I bought a iPad 1st generation for the $349. That's really the price point for me for a second or third device. It cannot replace my Macbook Air or my desktop. So I see no reason to justify $500 plus for a iPad 2. Which basically adds a slight bit more speed, no more storage and two camera's which I will never use.

Hey, in defense of Apple. At least they pay more attention to what applications they are distributing. That's more then I can say for Android. I agree that nobody is immune to malware. But I think open source is a meca of opportunity for malware now that it has a wider user base. Maybe that will shut up a lot of Linux fans who always said Linux was more secure. Its not if you download a App containing Malware!
