0.8.3 Beta (Jun 24, 2003)
This new version is so fast! This program has completely replaced my quick launch bar, and its the most useful piece of software on my PC. Great original concept by Apple. My only problem with Y'z Dock is the number of page faults that show up in my windows task manager. The program never has crashed for me, but it seems that there are page faults occuring every second the program is running. The only other program on my PC to do this is explorer.exe (lol). And after running Y'z dock for several hours, I had 10,000,000 page faults, and this is no joke. I dont know a thing about page faults, but I would sleep better at night if this bug were addressed :-) All in all, this is definately a five star program.

Tux_Racer, we're evaluating the program, not the splash screen. I find that both Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop are both difficult to master, and overall Photoshop is more powerful thanks to the endless amounts of plug-ins available for it. However, Paint Shop's UI is a more user-friendly than Photoshop's in subtle ways. PSP is a great program for the novice to professional graphic designer/editor. And considering that it's wayyyy cheaper than Adobe's Photoshop, I highly recommend picking this up.
0.6 Beta 24 (Apr 22, 2003)
loranger, its necessary to post each beta build, so that if an error is found in any build, it can be addressed and fixed for the next version. This is a betatesters board, we're here to filter out bugs for programs before they enter the final verison, that's the point :-)
Oh yeah and foobar b24 is awesome, just wish they would release the SDK on their website for the new 0.6x builds, so that people could start porting over and creating new plugins! A suggestion I'd like to see in future versions is crossfading tracks while using kernel streaming. If this is possible already can someone tell me how to do it?
1.3.0.2 (Apr 20, 2003)
Painfully slow to startup, and painfully slow when accessing the menus. Also I cannot access my Yahoo or Hotmail mail accounts, so this is probably good for kiosks where people can come in and surf websites, but definately not for everyday use. Also if the focus is security, perhaps enabling better support for proxies or anonymous proxy access would be recommended. Overall this program is still in its infancy, so once the slowdown bugs are removed and useful features are implemented, this program should be decent.
0.6 Beta 10 (Apr 9, 2003)
I posted an earlier review without fully exploring foobar2000, now that I had some time to sit down with it, I can honestly admit I was completely wrong giving this program such a low review. This is by far the best mp3 player I've ever used, in terms of customizability and sound quality. Kernel Streaming is absolutely amazing, the sound is much better than other similar programs I've used. My only gripe with the software is that it does not allow sorting by genre. I have categorized all my music via genre in the id3 tags... it would be nice if there was a way to categorize music in this way, perhaps a tree-style menu like in Windows Media Player. I've no need for visualizations, but with some bug fixes and optimization, this will definately replace winamp as my media player of choice.
