  1. Review - DVDFab All-In-One

    8.1.3.8 (Dec 12, 2011)

I first purchased this 9 Sept'06, when it was v3.x. Since those early days, and to concur with some earlier reviewers the last good versions of this are 4&6.
Now, is nothing more than junk.
Frankly I am at a loss as to why this is featured on BN, is most certainly not worthy of it.

  2. Review - DVDFab All-In-One

    8.0.7.3 (Jan 31, 2011)

This is the preface of an emial I received from Fengtao Software last Friday:

We have our full enthusiasm to work hard every day so as to provide happy user experience to all our dear customers like you. Back boned by ceaseless cutting-edge technologies and professional developing and service staff, you can feel assured to enjoy your life with DVDFab! "
I have lifetime a lsubscriptionon this so it is of no relevance. However, what I did find somewhat amusing was the phrasing. Pretty sure it was written by our friend JackRegan. For an app that allegedly updates its language files on each update,, this is risible.

  3. Review - DVDFab All-In-One

    8.0.6.8 (Jan 5, 2011)

Give me 1 Click DVD Copy & AnyDVD anyday, will outperform this hands down.
BTW I have lifetime subscription to this, but in comparison to the aforementioned it does not compete.

  4. Review - eBoostr

    2.0 Build 410 Beta (Mar 13, 2008)

Been using this on my XP notebook for about 6 months. Great app, according to Speedfan, my core temp's are 21 degrees Celsius, HD temp 28C. These figures speak for themselves. This machine
runs very cool, even when viewing AVI's, obviously it's going to reduce wear & tear on the HD.
Machine had Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 & GFX are on board Intel GMA X3100, nothing special.

  5. Review - 1Click DVD Copy

    5.3.1.9 (Nov 23, 2007)

I gotta say, started using this way back when. I think the version then was about 2.4.1, and yep it was cracked. Liked it so much I purchased it (as I do), I have both versions legit for about 3 years, and quite frankly I'm extremely annoyed/dissapointed at having to pay AUD20+ for the pro update, and AUD17+ annually for the standard update.
Have registered my disappointment with their sales people, however their response is as it should be "this is the best", pay for it or suffer.
Conversely, at the same time I purchased DVDFab, which at that time was junk, however this simple purhase back then has provided lifetime updates to what is now an extraordinary app.

  6. Comment - You bought HP TouchPad, it's discontinued, now what?

    5.3.1.9 (Aug 19, 2011 - 8:11 AM)

To add to the comment by r3dracer, this had only been released in Australia on Monday of this week. The princely total of 4 days before being taken off shelf. And, what a hoot it is! Exclusive retail (I'm unsure of their exclusivity term) for a company that is notorious for their lack of business acumen when it comes to next best thing, and ability to create viable online stores. Their shop front stores are also a waste, staff stand around doing their best to avoid dealing with prospective customers. at times it seems a competition between staff as to who can last the longest without providing service. Somewhat sadly this is an endemic issue with many retailers here.

  7. Comment - 76% percent of you use Windows 7

    5.3.1.9 (Jun 22, 2011 - 4:16 AM)

Technet Std AUD337 or 260 renewal in Australia. Ought to be about AUD180 & 140 respectively when taking into account current exchange rates. When I first purchased it, was then 512 & 384.
However, be that as it may, remains one of the best software purchases I've ever made.

  8. Comment - Can Apple stop the Android Army's advances?

    5.3.1.9 (May 20, 2011 - 11:14 PM)

    @Ed,
I purchased an Andoid Sammy SGS GT I9000 specifically (cost not being an issue for me) because I can do things like install Darky's Rom & the like on it. Attendant to this is the plethora of mods, themes etc out there in the intrabewz.

  9. Comment - Wikileaks' Assange denied bail after surrendering to UK authorities

    5.3.1.9 (Dec 7, 2010 - 8:31 PM)

@Peter, how about some disclosure pal, you are not from Australia. Although your profile says Bangladesh I suspect you are American.
The tell my friend? Australians do not use the word "heck" under any circumstances. Indeed in my 50+ years have never heard it used.

  10. Comment - A tale of two "red alerts:" Which Windows warnings should you heed?

    5.3.1.9 (Mar 19, 2010 - 9:35 AM)

This is most curious in that my principal email client is Outlook (Office '07), with junk options set to high along with blocked upper level domains excluding the .au domain. And, blocked ALL encodings etc.
Yet, much to my surprise this am when I opened Outlook, low 'n behold was the abovementioned email from Facebook in my junk folder.
What I find most amusing is that posting here is the closest I ever get to any social networking site. Never have had, nor ever will have a Facebook, MySpace or any of their yet to be invented successors'.
I guess my major concern now is how did these scammers' get my surname? I own this domain, and if a search is done the registrant is the very usual Anony Mouse. In this regard the highly personalised manner in which the "invitation" was addressed is a tad disconcerting.
