  1. Review - ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware

    6.1.514.000 (Oct 26, 2005)

I have been using Zonealarm for years. When they started the yearly fee for a firewall is when I have lost interest in it. When I bought the Pro, the UI said nothing about a yearly fee (except the usual we have the right to change this or that including licensing).

Lets just say I am using a different software firewall in addition to my hardware firewall. Hate throwning away money.

  2. Comment - Windows 98, Me Support to End in July

    6.1.514.000 (Apr 12, 2006 - 5:56 AM)

After reading all the posts, am disappointed in many of them. As a tech that runs my own business, I see all operating systems, though I have to admit, I have not seen Win95 in about two years. Being the only tech in my area that services computers in the home, many of my customers are over the 60's mark. Many of them picked up a computer from a school sale or given to them from their children. Is $400-$500 at lot to these people. Yes, when they are paying $800 plus a month for medication to keep them alive, can't afford a car, and living on Social Security that only raises between $5-8.00 per month, $400 plus is a lot of money.

I have a lot of respect for these people. They are tackling at completely foreign technology that they are scare to death that they are going to mess up just to try to keep up with the times. These people live on an income that far too many of who wrote sarcastic posts would not be able to last 30 days on, let alone year after year.

Microsoft's decision is just another nail in the coffin for many of these people. Think about it, and shame on your parents for not raising you right!

  3. Comment - EU Again Warns Microsoft to Obey

Microsoft wrote dos? I thought some guy did and Bill stole it for like $50,000 or something. Of course MS made billions.

  4. Comment - Angry Shareholders Sue GTA Publisher

Excuse me? I thought when you played the stock market, you take a chance? Some times you win, some times you lose. If you don't want to take the chance, then you don't invest. I think stock holders are a spoiled bunch of brats that want to bet on a sure thing, and are crying because the sure thing was so sure!

  5. Comment - USPTO Rejects Another Key NTP Patent

    6.1.514.000 (Feb 4, 2006 - 6:38 AM)

Let me get this right. I claim I invented sliced bread. I sue every bread maker in the country to pay my royalties. What is keeping me from suing every bread maker, then when I fail, claiming bankruptcy so I can't be counter sued for the cost of suing all the bread companies? Shouldn't I be required to put up cost fees before I sue?

  6. Comment - USPTO to Reconsider JPEG Patent

    6.1.514.000 (Feb 4, 2006 - 5:39 AM)

This patent crap needs to be changed. I can see an original owner reaping profits on his/hers work for 10-15 yrs., but once it is sold, it should become public property. That would solve a lot of problems, and would put a lot of attorneys out of business.
