  1. Review - POPFile for Windows

    0.21.0 (Mar 10, 2004)

The best keeps getting better. I haven't seen a better product for filtering junk mail anywhere (free or otherwise).

  2. Review - DVD Shrink

    3.1.6 (Feb 27, 2004)

How could anyone rate this program anything other than a 5? I guess if "6" were an option, perhaps. This has to be the greatest piece of software I have come across in a while. Best of all, the price is right. When you need to get those pesky dual-layer DVDs to fit onto a single layer DVD+/-R/RW (for legal purposes only, of course), this is the software to use. If you are just looking to rip (not shrink), I suggest that you use DVD Decrypter.

  3. Review - HTML-Kit

This is a great piece of software, especially given the price (free)! My notepad days are over.

  5. Comment - Revamped MSN Search Beta Previewed

How great is it that when you search for "AOL" the second result is the page for "MSN 9 Internet Service?" Obviously the first result is the AOL webpage, which is listed as an MSN top pick, for some strange reason.

Ok, fine... You can be Beatles and Apple if you want. :)

Thanks for the review, good work.

Being a PC or MAC person is kinda like being an Elvis or Beatles person. Not too many people are into both, and most people will fight to the death supporting their favorite. I am a Beatles (PC) guy and I can't help but think, as I start to get into more and more graphics and video-intensive stuff, that Elvis might be able to do more for me than I would like to admit. I had considered and then quickly dismissed the idea of the iMac, I think for the same reason that I just don't see that computer selling well to anyone: It's too small to be a powerful video editing solution, and too big to be portable. I am Apple's target right now... They want ME to switch. They have annoying "I saved Christmas" commercials and everything. As their target audience, I don't think this iMac is doing much for me. If they want to get all of us PC people over to their side (or, more realistically, on both sides), they are going to have to do more than make a computer that looks cool. It didn't work with the first iteration of the iMac, and it won't work here.
As for current Mac users, I don't think that Apple has anything to worry about, after all, 10,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong. They love their Macs, and they aren't switching teams anytime soon.
I guess the point is, I am just having a hard time figuring out to whom the new iMac will appeal.

  8. Comment - Roxio Readies Easy CD Creator 6 Beta

I keep hearing of all kinds of problems with EZCD5, and I just want to say that although it is pretty bloated software, it runs well for me. I don't doubt that people are having problems, and I am not going to try and promote the software. If you don't like it or have problems with it, it's understandable that you wouldn't use it. I just want to make the point that since I have installed WinXP, EZCD5 has been running extremely well for me. It might also have to do with the new burn-proof cd burner I got. I have installed EZCD on several PCs and have had luck on all of them, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I keep a copy of NERO on my machine as well, for serious burning.
