Firefox is a life and time saver! It loads pages in a flash and provides high security. Many secure sites provide 256-bit encryption, which Firefox can make use of while IE only can use 128-bit encr. Whenever I'm forced to use IE I feel completely crippled.

My feeling is this: IE9 is great. It basically puts IE on par with Firefox and Chrome. It feels fast and sleek, even if I'm sceptical to putting the tabs to the right of the address bar. But I guess IE users in general have fewer tabs than Firefox users, so maybe they can get away with it.
Even so, there is no reason for me as a long time Firefox user to switch to IE. Even if it weren't for the fact that I "believe" in Firefox and Mozilla, I can see no real reason to get out of my way to learn & set up a new browser to my liking.
I'm very happy for all those who have stuck with IE through the years though. Finally they have a browser that doesn't feel like stale bread compared to the competition.

Just click around Statcounter's statistics tool for a while: http://gs.statcounter.com/
You'll soon find that Asia and Africa use IE6 more than the other continents.

Yep. Or do the opposite. Work out when you want the product out of the door, then subtract four months or so for the roadmap. That way everyone working on Firefox can be four months "late" without the release being later than intended.
Perhaps that's how they do it?

Two inaccuracies in the article:
1. Since the statistic quoted is a week average, there was no specific day when Firefox 3.5 overtook IE7. If you look at day-to-day numbers, you'll see that Firefox always increases over the weekends and IE increases during the week days.
2. Since when did market share equal users? Car sales list the number of cars sold, right? Not the numbers of buyers for each brand. I'd say usage is very much the equivalent of market share when talking about browsers.

Change is good. In this case illogical and confusing.
