  1. Review - PerfectDisk Professional

    10 Build 93 (Jan 28, 2009)

IO BIT smart defrag for me.
    http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html

used to use perfect disk with it's "screen saver" option, and used diskeeper corp's "invisitasking", and "stealth modes ".

then IO bit introduced "idle defragmenting" and i switched. analysis with smartdefrag showed same amount of fragged files as perfect disk, then defragged with IObit and BOTH programmes showed ZERO fragments.

the fact that a freeware app can come even close to a full paid option is amazing, and now that there is "auto defrag in idle background", well there's no need to use anything else.

there are so many free options that do 90% of the job as paid versions, and some do even better!

  2. Comment - Apple's five stages of Google grieving

    10 Build 93 (May 24, 2010 - 8:40 PM)

Apple demand for iPad was a great launch, but already slowing: a sign of a novelty product. iPhone sales have been overtaken by Android sales, and iPhone sales of 5 million a quarter are dwarfed by the other companies (you know, the *other* players that make phones?) like Nokia, Samsung, LG, RIM that sell 100+ million a year!

a new iPhone soon, and the regular Apple fans will buy with maybe some new converts, but on balance the other phone makers will still sell more, including Android selling 700% increase on last quarter's sales. Android now has a larger market share than Windows mobile, and Apple is scared at the growth rate.

"All this BS from Googles love fest last week is becoming a bit nauseating", riiight, because Apple's conferences are nothing like a cult-love-fest are they?

as for Adobe Flash on Android, are you seriously commenting on the stability of a BETA release for testing?
the release is for feedback and quality control, you know? oh wait no, you don't know as Apple never releases anything for public feedback. Apple dictates to the customers what they can do, with their own software and hardware, you never get to tell Apple what you want, that's not an Apple customer's role.

Steve Jobs was "called everything under the sun" about his Flash comments because we all know it's bulls*** that those are the reasons why he won't allow it on Apple's mobiles. imagine, Apple doesn't let customers enjoy the full web experience on mobile because ol' Steve thinks he knows what's best for you. if Apple sold cars the vehicles would refuse to drive where you wanted based on what Apple thought was "best for you".

if Flash is so "crashy, a security risk, battery hog, etc" then why is it allowed on Apples *other* products? if it's so worthless and dangerous, why allow it on Apple laptops and desktops, where customers have their personal and valued data to lose ?

    couldn't be hypocrisy could it?

no, of course not. Steve is right about everything and doing what's best for Apple fans. he know best, even if he has to lie to you about the product's abilities:

  3. Comment - FLO TV launches pocketable, smartphone-like TVs

    10 Build 93 (Nov 15, 2009 - 8:11 AM)

"Like many of HTC's smartphones, the FLO TV PTV 350 includes a 3.5" capacitive touchscreen..."

HTC have made over 30 smartphones, and only 4 of them have capacitive screens. the "many" would seem to be without such screens.

  4. Comment - Android gets femtocell 'chameleon phone' app
