  1. Review - Mozilla for Windows

    1.1 (Aug 28, 2002)

Good stuff, it just gets faster and more featured. And I love the XPI add-ons you can get from mozdev.org - I have a ROT13 decoder, an applet that puts taglines in my email, a file leeching applet, a directory navigator, and extra search engines. It's all about choice, and customization.

  2. Review - BootXP

    1.85a (Mar 20, 2002)

It's a little hard to use. I couldn't get the program to generate ntoskrnl.exe files in another directory besides C:\. That 10 second shareware nag gets old pretty fast too. I would recommend using ResHacker to do the actual bitmap insertion, and use this program for a preview only.

  3. Review - Atomic PC Clock

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Aug 24, 2001)

This thing does what it's supposed to do, but since there's so many FREE atomic clock utils (both TSR-style and loadup style) such as WebTime 2000 by Software By Design, why bother?

  4. Comment - Real Sells 1 Million Half-Price Songs

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Aug 26, 2004 - 1:12 PM)

But isn't Real just as bad? It's not as if RealAudio is any less crippled than Apple's AAC. Seems like you're just trading one bad thing for another. At least the iPod can play MP3s.

It is also possible that Apple doesn't really want to associate itself with Real. RealPlayer, after all, was the poster-child of deceptive marketing.

  5. Comment - Apple to Debut New iPod Design

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Jul 20, 2004 - 12:26 PM)

Creative launched their new Zen Touch MP3 player too. Almost as good as an iPod, has a few frilly features the iPod doesn't (FM radio), but a lot cheaper.

I too wish that the iPod went down $200 USD, but since they're selling like crazy, there is little reason for Apple to drop prices.

  6. Comment - Microsoft Patches IE Flaw

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Jul 3, 2004 - 4:52 PM)

What about folks who *need* ADOB.Stream? They're up the creek?

  7. Comment - Microsoft Launches Broadband Hardware Line

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Sep 22, 2002 - 8:30 PM)

Exactly, it's actually pretty clever. Anyone that needs networking hardware for their MSN broadband, Xbox Live, future Tablet PC/Pocket PC apps can now do a one-stop shop at Microsoft. MS's broadband services pushes demand for networking equipment.

BTW, all the MS networking hardware is just rebranded Linksys anyway. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/5/27222.html

  8. Comment - Disney Interactive Seeks TRON 2.0 Beta Testers

    1.0 Beta Build 49 (Jul 28, 2002 - 3:45 PM)

Well, it's the weekend, you can't expect him to be at work on Sunday.

Of course, the real problem is why didn't they make a online signup form? No, they want hundreds of people to email a GO.com address! What next, a Hotmail address?
