  5. Review - Avant Browser Lite

    8.02 Build 112 (Nov 11, 2003)

I recently tryed this out for a few days. For the most part, this is an awsome browsing tool...easily setup, totally configurable. The only issue I saw, however, was it seemed to use alot of CPU %... at first, it would be minimal, but after 30-45min this would increase to around 12% CPU usage, and 30mb RAM... this seems a bit high to me for a broswer, this is based on having approx 5-6 windows opened, and none of them have anything major in them, like flash running. Now, I know my system is outdates, P2/450/448mb RAM, however, I also know, that nothing else I run uses this much. Even Winamp5 doesnt use CPU/RAM close to that. So I am wondering is there something running in the background of this proggy to cause such a mem leak? Anyone else seen this? thanks
