Our company records video of an order fillers but we can't make out exactly what the employee is scanning on the video so we concurrently run a key logger so we can capture upc data. If a customer later questions their order we review the tapes plus the key log. If we can't prove we sent the item its refunded so I can't begin to tell you how much $ this saves us per year.

I've been using Anti-Vir for couple of years now and have always recommend Anti-Vir but recently switched not because it didn't work but because they started using annoying nag pop-up screens for the freeware version. They do deserve to be paid but there are other free alternative programs that don't mind living quitely in the background plus doesn't turn my computer into a slug. This program should be classified as nagware.

This is so nice, much more functionality than Trillian and runs with slightly lower memory footprint. It's quite polished. I've been using Trillian for over a month and haven't been able to send files over Y! messenger but now can with Gaim.
I've made the switch.

I used Wingate for more than 2 years, it was great for it's time. Unforunately it's easly replaced with a simple 80 dollar DSL/cable router today. That's about 30+ more than their software sells. I must give Wingate a point for it's good customer service though, they always responded to my "questions" email's within 48hours. But I have to subtract a point because it does require that the "Server" computer stay turned on, and routers do not have such a weakness. I had trouble playing internet games with Wingate in certain circumstances while both my computers were playing on the same game server, again a router based solution has fixed all these issues.

Blue Ray is not substantially better than DVD sorry folks. I'm not going to be using the Blue Ray on the PS3 to backup my computer hardware so it's fairly useless, not planning on replacing my extensive DVD collection either. This is the same reason HDVD will fail. I predict these two formats 1) don't offer enough to warrant the price 2) DVD is not dead "far from it" it's cheaper than ever! Remember the days when we used "Rewind" DVD was far superior and that can’t be said of the new formats which have marginally better video. When benefits are greater for producers than consumers it’s at a bad starting point. UMD or DivX? How about HDMI connectors designed to prevent copying… Do you get excited about new DRM? I don’t even backup my DVDs now but I’m glad if I want to I can without taking a loss in quality and movie companies hate that!

When new tech appears such as Blue-ray or HD-DVD then there must be an easily discernable leap in quality over previous generation thus earning the title 'Next Gen' but I'm seeing the easy winner here and current king.. standard DVD. I went to Circut City and could only see minor improvements on their 1080p HD TV running a special demo. Without being knocked off my feet my feet will walk away - straight back to DVD and wait for the next claimed Next Gen. We need to see improvements in the realm of VHS to DVD sadly this is not it. The good news here is this technology may have the effect of lowering Progressive DVD players which will make more of an impression, strengthening standard DVD's base and future.
