5.6 (May 23, 2012)
This is the best calendar app i have tried. Had v1.x, then v3.x . Then used EssentialPIM for a while, now got an idea to try the latest version v5.6.
Calendarscope is more stable, intuitive, and has better usability. What's great, i haven't find a bug yet! It was nice to have the old good friend back. After testing it for some days, i upgraded my license. It was very nice to find that though my old license (for v3.1) was from 2006, i still got the discounted upgrade price 19,95 USD and now i have v5.6 up and running. I appreciate that!
I also find the licensing policy fair. One single-user license allows installing and registering second copy to another computer as long as the user remains the same and the programs are not running at the same time. So one can access to the common database over the network.
If there's need to use the program by multiple users/network users there's also a Family license and Network edition available.
Full 5 stars to the great calendar program!!
6.0.0 (Apr 22, 2012)
Sorry to say that i have to move on and find a new uninstaller. Maybe it will be Revo paid version, or IObit, don't know yet. This program used to be real good and i was with it many years but lately it has been acting very strangely, i can't trust it anymore.
The whole thing including licensing (for example un-registers itself) and has gone just too difficult and confusing. It feels somehow booby-trapped. I need a technically solid uninstaller, i have no time to play any games or tricks, especially if have paid for a program license, plus i take my system stability seriously.
The attitude of the author in his emails is quite unfriendly and accusing, which i could still stand because the error was in my wife's part, but now as the program itself that USED to be technically trustworthy is not that anymore, i'll just have to move on.
3.3.2.7 (Aug 11, 2011)
This is a strange one. As a notepad program, this is the best tool a coder can have. Very carefully planned and visually attractive. But the support and registration is not so great at all! Purchased this (Pro version) in 2008, and they (Gridinsoft.com) didn't send a registration code at all, instead i got after 2 requests after 3-4 days by email a login/password to the registrated users' area on their server. There was a link for the program to download.
Sometimes back in 2010 i wrote them because i wanted to download my last updated program version i had paid for and they never replied to my emails. And there was no the program to download any more in the registrated users' area.
About a week ago i had to re-install the program to my new computer and used the original Pro version installer from October 2008... Guess what. No chance to enter registration code! It stayed as Trial version, no nag screen whatsoever or anything to enter my registration license code. Just got an idea, and player round with my computer clock, and went back in time to October 2008 and started the program - A nag screen appeared which allowed me to enter the registration code! (?). And finally, the program is now registered.
It seemed to me as if they wanted me to buy again their program (Same program version, no updates since 2008 (v3.3.2.7) which i already had purchased and pay them 50 bucks... No way! As a quite nice notepad program, but such a fishy licensing and support, i'll give only 3 stars to this one.
6.1.3 Build 4653 (Jul 2, 2010)
I had to rate this program as 1 (Low) . I had this program installed for years, even had licenses for Letter Creator and Gold Galleries that i got as a gift. But I had to uninstall the whole program from my PC, it was a terrible resource hog, plus it was a kind of spyware; as i logged it's activities, it sent all kind of odd information to some sub-addresses of incredimail.com, plus it brought annoying unwanted popups to the taskbar (ads). It was not even a bit funny (that it supposed to be, i guess) , it was more naiive.
Functionally, the most advanced email programs were not able to read correctly the graphics composed with IncrediMail ; it simply was not compatible. The graphics in the email written with Incredimail were mostly readable only with another Incredimail client.
I have dumped Incredimail for good, and will never use that program, or any other product of this company any more. As i heard where the program is from, i was even more decided!
4.2.2.26 (Aug 1, 2009)
I gave this 5 start because i tried many burning programs in my laptop, and so many failed (they burned coasters), but this one has succeeded to burn every time working CD / DVD. I use very cheap bulk media, which can be the cause that some programs fail (Roxio Creator 2009, Complex Evolution, Easy Cd-Da Extractor). But this program does what it promises and it is very light on resources and extremely reliable. Also the program is so easy to use that there is no learning curve.
I once purchased a Gold member key for VSO, and got licenses for all their programs. I haven't had any regrets of my purchase. (Other VSO programs like convertXtoDVD for example, are top class as well.)
