  1. Review - CoolNovo

    1.2.4.0 (Sep 17, 2009)

I use it and have had no problems at all. It doesn't feel bloated at all. They added just the features I want (minus AdBlock) without a full extension system. Awesome! A big thanks. Re-opens just as fast as Chrome standard.

If you don't want IETab or MouseGestures, use regular Chrome. This specialized build is for those that really like Chrome, but have relied on Firefox+IETab because they have to go to Outlook Web Access, Sharepoint, etc.

  2. Review - Sony Vegas Pro

    8.0a Build 179 (Jul 29, 2008)

For the extensive feature set, editing is pretty easy -- this isn't Movie Maker, this is a real editor. It has good help and tutorials to get you doing cool stuff (even green screen effects). And at this price, it's hard to find any video editor/DVD maker product suite this straight forward that doesn't crash or freeze all the time. This is pretty solid. As for speed, no complaints here. It support lots of formats. All in all, a purchase I'm proud of.

You can buy crash-prone crap from Ulead or Roxio/Sonic because they regularly have new versions for you spend money on if you want, though.

  3. Review - Foxit Reader

    2.3 Build 2923 (May 23, 2008)

Awesome!! Been using it for years.

  4. Review - foobar2000

    0.9.5.2 (May 6, 2008)

Still loving the Foobar2000. A GIANT thanks to Peter P.!!

Roj, sorry to hear about the failing vision. Just a tip, though, when someone works hard to code and maintain awesome free software (or bad free software for that matter), comments like "I'll expect this feature in the next beta" come off ugly and unappreciative. I hope you were kidding.

  5. Review - foobar2000

    0.9.5.2 Beta 1 (Apr 9, 2008)

    Fantastic music player.
    Feature requests include:
    1) Listing and filtering on Ratings without requiring UI_Columns or UI_Panels.
    2) Builtin CD Burning plugin or "Export Playlist To Burrrn" or something easy/simple/free.

And that's about it. Again, awesome player that's not a resource hog like some (I'm looking at you iTunes and WMP).

  6. Comment - VMware CEO ousted for former Microsoft exec

    0.9.5.2 Beta 1 (Jul 10, 2008 - 11:35 AM)

"VMware hasn't been known for all that much innovation lately"

What?? Have they used VMware ESX in an enterprise lately?? ESXi is an amazing accomplishment. VMotion and Storage VMotion make life for a SysAdmin soooo much easier -- Microsoft can't do it. VMware virtual servers use generic VMware drivers which means you can easily move them to dis-similar hardware in a DR situation -- Microsoft uses drivers tied to the host's hardware and claim this is a good thing (WTF?). Microsoft hires product evangelists (seriously), VMware enterprise customers ARE the VMware evangelists, just talk to one.
