the game seems to me to be a wonderful example of what a perfect game should be like
All aspects of it seem to be perfectly thought over:
no bugs/crashes i noticed while i was playing it
pretty fast and not too much pc resource-demanding
anyone can play it, starting from a 2-years child i think
it's cute and funny
if you have gone through all levels in your dweep and you want to play more, there are 2 expansion packs available on the dweep's site with a lot of new levels
the game is not too expensive at all
if you need help there are hints before each level, plus there are solutions for all levels on the site
very well balanced, not too easy but not too complex either and will keep you addicted for a long time for sure
no save-games problems
the graphics is very nice, as well as the sounds are.. i love to listen to my dweep go 'Aah' when it steps onto a heat plate and gets all fluffy :)

*IMHO* this won't be a waste of time or efforts. You forgot about one thing - competition is an engine of progress. If MS has competitors, it will have to try to make their products better. As it is now, they don't have serious competitors yet. And I will support the Khronos' group's efforts at least for the sake of that purpose. Good luck to them.
P.S. I use both Windows and Linux, they both have good and bad sides and that's a good thing i have an alternative that depends on my needs.
