The drivers are signed, you should run windows update and get the latest certificates.
As for the program - rock solid security but I wouldn't trust my life with their AV definitions just yet.

Very good security program. Betanews looks clean no adds. I own the Outpost Security Suite Pro Lifetime license, good for three computers.

It's improved over the year, however still slows my pc down rather a lot.
Will stick with Norton 2010/2011 which does not have major impact.

Overall a nice, comprehensive product. There should, however, be an easy way of turning off the advertising and it still suffers from the "zero bytes" problem in the firewall logs under Event viewer. It's only these latter two issues that compel me to rate it a 4. The Lifetime license is an excellent deal and certainly worth consideration for those looking for an all-in-one security solution.

This firewall runs along Norton Antivirus 2009 for me, and I just recently purchased the lifetime license of Outpost so i'm going to have it for a long time.
I'm currently running it with the antispyware not installed, and the content filtering not installed. I have an advanced firewall without the extra features. Normally I would recommend you install the extra features because they are fantastic, but since i'm running Norton, there simply wasn't a need.
However in my tests of Outpost, it didn't stealth my ports even in stealth mode (No big deal), It was however successful in detecting every leaktest sample I threw at it. The antispyware component did a wonderful job of cleaning up my infected virtual machine. In fact it was one of the few cleaners to do a thorough job without crashing.
Conclusion: It works as advertised. I wont even dock it for not stealthing some ports. Only paranoid people get worked up over port stealthing. Firewall works great, you can block advertisements, block malicous websites and keep your PC's traffic under your watchful eye. It's Antispyware will shield from the creepy nasties and it does it well.
Just make sure you pair it with an Antivirus program like AVG, Avast or Antivir.

Bloatware? YES. But all the extra crap (host manager, ad block, etc, etc. etc) can be disabled.
I have yet to find a FW that simply, and ONLY, does what it should; monitor net activity so that only the stuff U want to have access, has access. Not monitor ads, or viruses or hosts files, or file activity in general (dumba**es) or any other BS I don't need it to do.
I am running webroot's free fw now and am just about sick of it.
ninjeratu reviewed v2008 6.0.2137 Beta on Sep 25, 2007
Well, maybe you should read the manual then and not just block everything? It's a firewall after all.
That said this thing is a mixed bag. The firewall is based on Outpost Pro and is one of the better ones. Very easy to use, even my mother can use it. Well, easy for some .. *looks at the comment below*
Unfortunately the VirusBuster's anti-virus Agnitum choose to licens is .. well ..Not that great. Yes, it can find virii. Yes, it can find spyware. It's got 100% in VB for finding in-the-wild virii.
Unfortunately it's just not very good at actually doing its thing. In Vista the performance of VirusBuster is almost to the point that it makes the system unusable. The scan process is incredibly slow. It's also pretty lousy finding common malware like keyloggers. Many small annoyances makes me wonder if the betatesters submitted any reports at all. When the integrated anti-virus interfere with the firewall you know something's strange.
Anything good? Well. The firewall is top notch and the interface is nice, it's the same as Outpost Pro after all.
I don't know who I'd recommend using this since ESET, the makers of the NOD32 anti-virus, has a bundle of their own but without all the problems of this one. Fast, reliable anti-virus and a perfectly working firewall (though simpler than Outpost).
I will rate this bundle 2 for the excellent firewall and the effort, but they really should've picked a different anti-virus engine.

I thought first it was a very good program. Since it blocks my adsl connection (like Panda few years ago under XP) i am not agree to use it for a long time !
With the service applied directly into the network connection, i can not obtain an automatic ip address. It blocks it! After have get off this service directly from network's properties, all works fine!
BootBlock reviewed v2008 Public Beta on Aug 19, 2007
Tried installing on Vista x64 (as that's what it's for) but part of the installation failed as the drivers it tried to install weren't signed. What the hell? Seriously? Anyway, the installation continued and then I restarted. Now the connection, as expected, is completely hosed.
Can't access a single thing on the network or the internet. No problem - I'll just uninstall it, right? Nope. Uninstall fails. I'm preying that System Restore will fix this mess otherwise my 8-month strong install of Vista will have to be flattened, and I'm NOT a happy bunny.
I used to use Outpost pre-Vista, so I was a fan of it. But the problem is, when Outpost goes wrong - it goes VERY wrong. This time, it went wrong. I've now learnt not to touch any non-final Agnitum software releases.

ninjeratu; GFY. My pc's and any I work on are some of the most secure and clean you will ever find. Norton? wtf is that? Vista? wtf is that? You're the fool. Previous post is right. All in one suites are junk. PERIOD. Comodo pro is and always has been free and works much better than agnitum beta or otherwise. All I can say is it needs a lot of work & I for one refuse to be their testing guinny pig. It had serious issues: freezing up, etc.
ghammer reviewed v2007 (1233.616) on May 14, 2007
They should stick to doing what they know best, firewall app.
What is it with all the 'suites' nowadays? None are worth the download, and some are hard to configure to only do one function.
Get the best tool for each job. That is the only way to provide security.
Zankur reviewed v2007 (1233.616) on May 13, 2007
Please don't get fooled into thinking that this thing as good as their firewall.
The antivirus they use is from "VirusBuster"....has anyone heard its name??-its crap!
the anti-spyware is from ad-aware(which is no longer the best) and their anti-malware is developed in-house and hasn't been tested by any major lab.
so,this turns out to be a flop product from agnitum...who should better concentrate only one making firewalls..

This kind of version blocks also acess to 'strong packed' EXE-files.
For example i pack a few files with ASPACK; after this 'Outpost Security Suite Pro' don't allow the acess to a few packed files. It need Improvement with dignity, since it concerns a false alarm

Previous poster, anomoly, is a complete tool and is just making a fool of himself on the internet.
Betas have issues, and even the most clueless would realize this, but alas ..
Anyway.
There's nothing wrong with this build and perhaps anomoly should scan his computer for virii and spyware (with something better than Norton) before he complains about the product. It's obviously him and his computer that are at fault here. Unless, of course, he tried to install in in Vista, for which it's not yet working...
Outpost Pro is the best end-user firewall for the Win32 platform. Low footprint, excellent protection, easy to use without in-depth knowledge of security. This new Security Suite beta will add interesting features to this and hopefully come up with something really great.
This product is now in Public Beta and is free to use until the beta is over, but to call it "freeware" is stretching it. You will need to register at http://www.agnitum.com/p.../securitysuite/beta.php

Vista Compatible? Here is a quote from their site:
The current version of Outpost Pro 4.0 and the upcoming Outpost Pro Security Suite 2007 are not Vista-compatible. However, Vista-compatible versions of both products are in development and will be available to all registered users of Outpost products with a current license free of charge.
See the following link for more info on Vista Compatibility:

Looks like Agnitum pulled this beta from their homepage, but I was able to get it downloaded and installed. I have long loved the Outpost Firewall and I am looking forward to taking this new product through the paces. I am up and running for nearly 2 hours now with no problems.
