Publisher's Description

VIPRE Antivirus is high-performance security software that doesn't slow down your PC like older, traditional antivirus products. It is the end of antivirus software as you know it. Tired of old antivirus software that makes your PC slow down to a crawl? Interrupting what you are doing with slow scan times, causing problems and nagging you? Time for a change to next-generation antivirus + antispyware that is not a resource hog

This is a pretty good AV - I read some good reviews on it but when I installed it on this PC the unit ran very slowly & at times not at all, I can only conclude there were issues either with this particular configuration or a conflict with some installed application(s).

Going to give it another whirl at a later date - Well worth a try & very good value.

Excellent program. Does what it says it can do and then some. I hope in the very near future it incorporates a new firewall and then becomes a complete internet security suite to compete with the other existing internet security suites.

Used the program for a weeks, does what it's supposed to do, even manages it without using a lot of resources. Then suddenly it goes on a rampage and declares one program after another "unsafe" and deletes then associated .exe files, in this mode Vipre doesn't bother with the Quarantaine, the .exe files are very securely deleted. Don't bother to try and re-install the software, once Vipre has declared a program unsafe it remains unsafe. The issue above happened also in the later versions of Counterspy but were dumped by support as "impossible".
The only way around it is to uninstall Vipre , re-install the trashed software and reinstall Vipre, after that Vipre has no problems with those programs even during a deep scan.

Look at the price. Now imagine the price drop, money you save, if you are a counterspy owner.

$30 for non-registered users.
$10 for registered counterspy users.

Hell, as a owner of counterspy, that's a deal I am not going to pass up.
