Bottom Line: Since my last review of this software several years ago, I have ditched One Note because of constant synch problems.

I am now using AMN exclusively and I love it. If you need to sync between computers I suggest keeping the data file on a OneDrive or DropBox drive. Great software and the support is outstanding. Well worth a few bucks for the paid version.

I haven't used this for a while, even though I do have a license for the paid version. Tried it again recently and It is still a very useful program and is worth the price of the full version, but only IF you don't own Microsoft Office 2010. Office 2010 users already have the best note organizer with the included ONENOTE Application. A lot of people don't even know it's included in their Office Suite and I would suggest trying it out if you need this sort of app. I still have to give AllMyNotes a 5 for it's fast search and overall layout

@ Bala7: The point here is not what we can or cannot do. In fact to write a review one just need to be an user not a developer. The point is all those features supposed to be in the free version they simply aren't available. To get the full power out of this app you have to buy the full version. It's just smoke in the eyes.

After number of negative feedbacks about freeware version I think I've figured what's wrong - BetaNews download link was broken and redirecting to our homepage, which is wrong. It's uneasy to find beta version there, and probably you where lead to paid version, which was difficult to register as Free edition. Please sorry for that. I've implemented redirects for BetaNews users on our web-site to lead downloads to correct Beta page.

Nice notes program, but I don't know if you need all the "categories" to sort through. I'm spoiled on a notes keeper called VectorNotes, because it works just like google search bar...type in any word or phrase, and it goes directly to your note.

The confusion begins when it seems this belongs to *FREEWARE* software. Therefore people download it thinking that you'll get those cool features for free. Now, if you like it and you wanna pay for it, it's up to you. But please, don't put this under freeware category showing those features, the *FREE VERSION COMES WITH LIMITED FEATURES*. That's all. If you wanna pay, go and pay for it, that's the only way to have all the features those wrongly appear here, they are not free.
As shareware software it's great, as freeware software it's useless.

I like the feel of this organizer, intuitive and easy to use for a fairly newbie to this type of program. Just looking forward to possible table insert module to make it easier for old eyes to align numbers and notes in columns.

Stop trying to compare this with a software that no longer exists-Keynote.
KeynoteNF has replaced it and works just fine.
This is a great piece of software for those that want to PAY for it.
Nobody cares what you think about other reviewers or fileforum whatsoever.
Save the long winded speeches for your personal friends.
Retarded to compare it to either keynote-discontinued, or my notes keeper-a joke.

I like this program, it's base functionality would be great for someone on the go, a student or just someone that wants to organize their thoughts. The price is right and I believe it's very good- but early.

I was a KEYNOTE user along time ago, but KEYNOTE development stopped and there were a lot of performance issues with it...

But if you're searching for a direct replacement for Keynote- look at MyNotesKeeper; it can import Keynote files. It's shareware, but has lots of functionality and feel of Keynote. It can also publish to WordPress.

$34 USD is a lot when you compare it to KeyNote, which is free and seems to be on the same level in terms of functions and usability. Good idea, and always good to have competition, but $19 would be a lot more palatable.

So far I've tried the pro version (trial mode) and the free edition of this program, and I have to say that it's a great note taking piece of software. What won me over was the interface: clean, great to look at, and user friendly.

I don't understand why people here hate this software so much. Both versions let you save notes, translate the toolbar to different laguages, organize different folders according to the information you want to put in them, use the text editor, take advantage of the search engine, and more. It's obvious that the creator needed to make the pro version even better to promote the software, it's not a sin and not a reason to move to other note taking softwares. You really need to give it a try.

It's ok but I wasn't happy with the lack of a native skin and the huge database file it creates. If you are looking for a truly free simple note taker like I was you might want to give CintaNotes a try. http://cintanotes.com/

The database file that gets created with the exact same notes in AllMyNotes was 28mb but only 25kb in CintaNotes.

I did try it and was then made aware of the limitations.
Wikionastick appears to be a winner but does have a learning curve. Rednotebook is ok but I just can't get around the gui.
This is perfect seeming in the pay version. This is not that version and if what their own site says is wrong, please correct me. Till then the free version of note trumps this by far. I just can't live without the ability to import a picture and still call it an information organizer. Putting these features in the free version with a timeout, I would imagine, is a waste of my time. Fine program otherwise.
Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

anomoly, with each review you knock this program, then promote a completely different program, one which you mentioned was also a "Freeware" version which also had a "Pro" version which wasn't free, which is exactly what you had knocked this program. Then you claimed that this program basically stole the very code of the other program, which is so obvious that it hasn't because this program does not use the .NET library. Your comparison regarding the .NET library to video drivers is completely lacking and uneducated, which is a rebuttal to my comment about the .NET library. Now you're here again knocking this program and again promoting yet another program. This time though you at least are pumping a program which does seem to be freeware, albeit a 10 meg download compared to this 2 meg download, but at least if you want argue the freeware factor, at least you picked one now that does not seem to have a pro version.

But like half of the software posted on FileForum, this one offers a freeware version as well as a pro version, and like all the others before this program, the free version will not have some features. While we may all not like this idea, it is an accepted behavior and practice that even pre-dates FileForum and BetaNews. So you're perpetual attempt to discredit this program is unwarranted and unwelcome.

How about you actually download the program and try it and give a review based on your usage of the program instead of just attacking the program with only information that you've read on it's website. And when you do try the program, try to be unbiased and truthful with your review. Use the program, note your experiences with the program. What features did you use, what features that you used did you like or not like.

Now, on to version 2.01 Beta! (Using the Deluxe version)

I don't know if it's just me, but for some reason the buttons and graphics of the interface seem sharper. Also, the program seemed to start up quite a bit faster for me than in previous versions.

I love finally having a spell checker, but wish it were a live spell checker like most word processors and edit boxes on most web browsers. The old dialog based spell checking is, well, *old*...

Thus far, I'm still impressed. It is still very simply and has not turned into a bloated, confusing and frustrating mess that most other programs in this category are.

I have been using AllMyNotes Organizer for almost 2 weeks. I am office manager of small property management business. I have been looking for software to organize & store property/lease information on computer, and a To Do list product for my tasks. Software built for property management companies is larger than I need and very expensive. I don't need all the financial features they have...just store & manage information.
I have been VERY pleased with AllMyNotes. The biggest task was figuring out how I wanted to organize everything...which is really great because I could do it for the way I work, not change the way I work to fit the software. The Quick Start really helped. I will probably change a little once I use it a month or 2. I can store ALL the information AND also "to do" lists. This is GREAT!
The planned alarms will help, and maybe an integrated calendar; but I'm very satisfied with current product. Builders will need to be careful not to put too many features that may clog it up. Today I will purchase to be sure to keep all the Deluxe features. It is well worth the cost.

I have nothing against this software at ALL. It looks WONDERFUL! I don't have the money to unlock it or I might rate it much higher. Simple fact is, a "free" CRIPPLED piece of software is less than worthless to me. False advertizing at it's finest to be sure.

I have used all my notes software for over a month and its look and feel and intuitive usability is fantastic to say the least. Its tree form structure is excellent. In fact I think it is the end of the road for anyone trying to find a personal information manager. As it is named so it works.

People should actually research what they are posting reviews on instead of just looking at screen shots here on fileforum. Anomoly, did you even go to the website of this program and read about it? Did you even download and use this program? This looks nothing like fishCode Library.NET. Also, do you realize that fishCode Library.NET also has a Professional version, which means the free version you speak of is also a watered down version of it's Pro version. Besides that, fishCode Library is nowhere near as easy to use as AllMyNotes here, in either form. For ease of use AllMyNotes wins hands down. And as far as I know, AllMyNotes doesn't require the .NET runtime library to be used. So AllMyNotes only requires you to have a Windows operating system while fishCode Library requires you to have the Window operating system plus an additional runtime that's the size of an operating system.

After trying this current version I'm even more happier than before as one major needed feature I've been waiting for has been added, and that's bullet lists. Though it might have been in there a release or two back. And it seems that an old bug has finally been fixed that was driving me nuts. This program gets better and better and the authors are highly dedicated to their program and users of their program.

Even as of this date, I still look at other note taking program and so far this is the only one that continues to meet my needs for speed and simplicity.

Sorry Anomoly, but you are totally wrong - AllMyNotes Organizer is true Freeware application, simply it's available in two editions - Free, and Deluxe, and you have to select which one is right for you. After 14 days a reminder to select edition shows up, you can simply continue to use it, and select which edition is right for you whenever you want. Regarding similarity with mentioned by you app - there is no similarity at all, we are using totally custom UI, made by ourself, with skins, multilingual, features are absolutely different too. We didn't copied anything, there are many applications of this kind available on a market, but we are doing our best to make better one - with data storage file encryption, nice, and simple in use.

Note from http://fishcodelib.com/ blows this 14-day trial out of the water. Easier to use, way more powerful, and there is no time limit on features. Note is a single exe of 2.35 MB and this is an 8.4 MB compressed folder. They are both portable and both leave reg entries.
It's almost like he copied fish's work the guis are so similar.

Yeah But i'm almost positive that importing pics & hyperlinks will be disabled after the trial which turns it into a glorified notepad. I'm not discounting it for the code just the attempt at calling it freeware.

This has some serious potential.

I like the simplistic nature of it - it doesn't try to be too many things and as a result is not bloated with buggy extras. It is perhaps a "Niche" product, but there's nothing wrong with that if it meets the needs of its users.

I don't like forced themes either, and hope they allow users to set the app to use only the default OS theme currently active.

It's also a bit buggy in its current state and I would hope that improves with time.

There are some very good free products out there that this app will compete with, and in terms of value it might lag as a result, but I hope development continues and bugs are squashed, code optimized and the UI theme setup is modified. I hope that during all of this development they don't lose sight of what the program started out as, because with an app like this, Feature Creep is all too common over time.

Good luck to the developers, and thanks for providing a Free edition for users who are just getting their feet wet.

This is fabulous, it's missing a few things like a spell check (which is in the works) and an automatic date inserter either in the note or Title or both. It's quite a simple interface, with rearranging files, making folders and moving notes a piece of cake. If you take notes on several subjects. You can make more than one database, for example: I track my personal Personal, Medical and Work notes in one dbb and one on my son's Personal, Medical and School notes in another dbb. It's not a full all in one feature-rich bloated piece of software, which is exactly what I needed.

Finally! A Note Outliner that isn't overbearing, bloated, crammed so full of features that the interface is intimidating!

For years now I have been looking and waiting for just the right level of features for a note outliner and thus far AllMyNotes has come the closest.

A clean and intuitive interface compliments a nicely done skin, which allows you to just jump right in taking notes. No need to set up a file to use, select what file to us, just run the program and start making notes that you need.

I am not very keen on skins for programs and could careless about that feature but! the skins included with this program are very nicely done and easy on the eyes unlike some skins you get with other skinned programs out there. The skins are not distracting at all. Though I would love to see the ability to switch to native Windows GUI, but will not scoff if that never happens.

It has the common basic formatting features that you would need, bold, italic, underline, alignments, font size and face selection and more. It only lacks two features that I believe should be there and that is bullets for lists and the ability to insert images such as bmp, jpg, gif and png.

If you've been fed up with trying to find just the right balance for a notes program, try AllMyNotes here and see if like me, it has just the right balance you've been looking for.

(Currently there is a planned deluxe version noted on their site. Review was done using the free version listed on their site at the time)
