    This is not v5.xxx!

It's v.6.xxx, which is very hard to use.

Comodo adds a 5th layer, rootkit detection. This suite is just incredible, and all the average person will ever need. They have even more advanced functionality in the works called DACS. It's a stunning development, and uses pooled definitions from most of the other AV developers.

Very competent security suite. Comodo has taken the advice of users, and chipped away at problems and deficiencies. All 4 layers of protection work great. It's fast and stable. The definitions are huge, but those of all good AV programs are these days. My favorite feature is, this suite is complete, and you don't need anything else for protection. If something gets through, you're not paying attention. The only problem is, it doesn't white list every legitimate software in the universe, but that's not realistic. I haven't heard it said, so I'll say it: Comodo is now as good as the top 3 commercial suites, while being less resource hungry and more pleasant to use. Thanks for listening Comodo, I will be donating!

Now at version 5, I see nothing wrong with this Internet security suite. It's a 4 part suite, the only complete Freeware suite I know of. Comodo's responsiveness to features, bugs, and false positives are as good as any commercial AV. The hit accuracy is now right up there with the best commercial AV's. The GUI is quick, light on resources, and polished. Over the past several months, I have had wishes and a few problems, but now have none. Comodo has addressed every single problem and wish. Do try this program, and if you find something wanting, just let Comodo know.

Well, they fixed the incompatibility with XMPlayer and other compressed EXE files. That's a step in the right direction, and proves they want to do it right. There are many other good fixes and improvements in this release, and I recommend you try it. It's plenty enough protection to run on your main system, with 4 layers of protection. AFAIK, it's the ONLY total package that's free, and it's NOW CLEAN! 2 extra stars for being clean!

    Nice, but quirky.

Absolutely will not allow XMPlay to run, even if you tell it to ignore it. Comodo has known about this problem for 2 months. Shame on them.

OK, so I like the new one quite a LOT.. except.. ITS SO BLOODY BUGGY!.. The sandbox feature is a real pain as it causes lots of programs to crash when starting so I had to turn that one off..
It worked fine for about 12 hours but after that every few minutes I get a white rectangle in the middle of the screen as if a splashscreen was supposed to be there, but it never goes away.
Looking in the taskmanger theres no indication that anything in comodo has locked up. I thought there might be something conflicting so I installed it on my Acer Aspire 2930 notebook with absolutely NOTHING except windows 7 home premium 64bit and the current set of windowsupdate patches.. left it for like.. 14 hours and the white square had appeared there as well..

If I click the white square (that is on top of EVERYTHING else) windows instantly throws up a box (behind the white box) asking if I wanna close the app, go online and check for a solution or wait.. touch any option and comodo immediately exits.

Did they test it at all? kinda doesnt seem like this to me..

Nice GUI, more intuitive. That was the biggest drawback of 3.x. Runs very fast and efficiently. Unlike Norton, McAfee, and Kasperski, you hardly notice it's there. When checked against all the rest on virustotal.com, it usually finds everything the big boys find.

Great software firewall from a vendor with very good CS.

There is not a thing wrong with Comodo adding toolbar to keep this program free as long as it can be deselected which it can.

Those complaining about toolbars or ads in free software that can be deselected or not installed should stop being cheap and pay for Pro versions or software in general.

As long as the option is there to not install an ad related toolbar to support the program being free I will use this program and it is not like Comodo is the first company to do this.

CIS is an excellent firewall and has low system impact.

Its really a shame that Comodo has become, now its a bloatware with adware instalation, some software portal like Softpedia delete Comodo from his list because Comodo refuse to throw away his adware instalation, really really shame.

Outstanding application. I just love how granular the firewall can be (it's a bit of a hassle to really set up correctly for the first time...but so is any firewall in my opinion). This app exceed my expectations and this new beta solved my problem with the firewall incorrectly blocking some traffic from a VMware virtual machine. Anyway, highly recommended.

There is no question that Comod firewall is one of the best free firwalls out but, like most companies, they are trying to everything and the other aspects of this security program fall short. I would rather see Comodo continue to just wokr on improving their firewall and leave the rest out.

To the person that loves this program but doesn't use the anti-virus and uses another anti-virus, I have one question- Why use this program when the standalone firewall is also free?
