    You get what you pay for with freeware, often feature-poor software. However, Compare It continues to improve and can handle virtually any file including both CSS and Excel files. Amazing.

    Compare It's web site states that WinDiff is 10 years old and that it is time to upgrade to it. I am afraid that this tool lacks one very important feature that WinDiff has and that is the ability to compare directories. I and many of my friends and colleagues always compare a directory first and then compare the different files the tool finds. I am surpised that even at version 3 of the product, the author or its users have failed to add or request this feature.

    Stick with WindDiff or look up Beyond Compare
