EmEditor Professional 7.01 RC 1 is available for download. This version fixes bugs including:

- Replace in selection only with Search Only Word option.

Download:
http://www.emeditor.com/pub/emed701rc1epx.msi (32-bit)
http://www.emeditor.com/pub/emed701rc1ep64.msi (64-bit)

The portable version can be produced from the Import/Export wizard on the Tools menu after you use the installer. However, the portable version runs slower than one using the Registry.

Well, then stick with UltraEdit, nothing wrong there except it no longer handles large files. For me, I have one great FTP program and I'd much rather use it than an inferior built-in one any day. So we'll disagree on this one.

But basically you're gripe is one of: "I'm too cheap," which is not about the quality of the editor itself but of something you wish it had. Oy. On that basis, I guess I should hate MS Windows because it doesn't run Compiz Fusion.

Yes, we do need FTP support for real professional work, the rest is just... decoration.
I paid for UltraEdit and it has an excellent FTP support support and it is included, it is even capable of connecting to MVS Mainframes. On the other hand, if you want to have FTP suport on EmEditor, you have to pay extra... Why ?
So, for a simple FTP support why not go for what it is already there for free : PSPad (included) or Notepad++ (via plugins).

Yea, hell will freeze over before anyone would pay for shareware. Please, dude, that's a phony complaint. Every time someone doesn't like any app, they drag out the ol' 'doesn't do FTP' line.

No FTP support and if you want it, you have to pay an extra $39.99 (EmFTP)... Not Good.

Basically there is better freeware (Notepad++ or PSPad).
