I really appreciate the ability to run one application on my production server and have it download all the components I need, espeically with new stuff like the ASP.NET MVC framework coming out recently. I wrote a full review of the Web PI here: http://www.joshjordan.co...-platform-installer-300

    Too little, too late.

I might have been interested in it around 1997..8..9 in it, but not any later than that and definitely not any more. Since 2000 we run a happy little consulting business on Apache/LightTPD, MySQL/Firebird... you get the picture.

It is not that we feel that warm and fuzzy feeling only when selling FOSSy solutions. Not at all - there are Websphere/Oracle shops relying on us. MS has not a shadow of a chance to come against proven performance.

Vista? Our customers are never going to deploy that pile of crap. µSofties should better develop for NT5 - yes, for Windows2000 and WinXP - or roll over and die.

not for xp because IIS 7 is not for xp. I am glad MS is doing this, this will help with more widespread addoption for novice users or people just getting into web hosting. the only thing i wish they did was instead of sql express (normal) they did sql express with advanced remorting features, that would be nice.
