Reviewing 0.8 (Aug 15, 2008)
Too many bugs. Most operations -- from setting fonts to exporting data -- were not working for me. There were also some problems in the tree control in that "ghost" nodes and duplicates appeared and disappeared for no apparent reason. The application finally crashed on its own. On restart, a lot of weird things continued to happen. For example, tabs appeared with control names instead of labels. There also appeared to be a memory leak or something that prevented the application from running normally again after having crashed.
This product needs a lot more internal testing and refining before being released as a beta. On the positive side -- a great interface, the ability to sort folders and notes by date of entry, and more.
I say, keep at it.
It is freeware. However I was thinking that as it's a beta and there are bound to be a few bugs, if there was a time-limit, then, after the 60 days, users would be able to upgrade to a more up-to-date version with more features and fewer bugs. For the next release, I will remove the time limitation.
# Limitations: Yes - 60 day timeout
