Taskbar Shuffle is a small and simple program, that add a handy new functionality to your Windows taskbar - it enables you to rearrange the taskbar buttons by simply dragging them around. This feature can be quite useful if the order and arrangement of your taskbar buttons is of importance to you. Makes you wonder why the taskbar did not come with this feature in the first place.
- Added: UltraMon (http://realtimesoft.com/ultramon) compatability
- Added: option to disable auto-check for updates
- Added: holding a key while dragging tray icons is now optional (added “None” to key list)
- Added: if grouping is enabled, you can now shuffle the buttons in a grouped button's popup menu
- Fixed: if grouping is enabled, clicking, holding, and dragging the mouse upward to a button’s popup menu should not cause the button to start dragging anymore
- Fixed: sometimes the ghosted button would get stuck to the mouse
Reviewing 2.5 (Jan 20, 2009)
I love this application, however... I cannot get it to work on my new pc which runs vista.
It worked fine with no tweaking on my old machine which ran xp.
I read on another forum that only the 32bit version worked for vista.
I tried that but no change.
I am probably doing something wrong, but cannot figure what it is.
Appreciate any help to fix this.
This is a great little tool.
Thank you.

An excellent little utility that can also move stuff in the tray area. The only thing that I don't really like is it's 9MB memory footprint. I mean, for what it does this is kinda WAY too much.
An alternative is Taskix: http://taskix.robustit.com/ . Takes up only 1.6mb.

Thirty seconds after installing this program, I'm giving it 5 stars. Great idea and works perfectly (so far!). I especially like the idea of middle-clicking a window in the taskbar to close that program, rather than rightclicking and then selecting close. This will probably become one of those programs that are completely indispensible and one of the first things I'll wind up installing on a brand new machine (along with Shove-It [http://www.phord.com/shoveit.html])

Taskbar Shuffle is a great program that allows flexibility on the Taskbar.
You can move around icons in the system tray and on the taskbar itself.
Why didn't Microsoft think about that feature in it's Windows products yet ?
This is a great product and it's freeware, so why don't try it and see it for yourself ?
I did and I must say, I like this program very much.
