   Review - TaskInfo

   10.0.1.331 Beta (Mar 6, 2012)

   Used this program years ago. It was messy-looking then and still looks messy today. Plus, it's unacceptable to charge for a program like this when others are out there, completely free, which work ten times better. I recently switched from ProcessExplorer to SystemExplorer (http://systemexplorer.net/). Freeware (personal AND commercial use!), decent interface and the popup when you hover over the systray icon is extremely useful.

   Review - Defraggler

   Wow. They've got boot-time defrag in this now. I'm impressed - how many versions did that take to appear? Anyway, Defraggler's free, but there's at least three other programs better than it out there - MyDefrag, Puran, Auslogics. Go with Puran if you want a GUI, MyDefrag if you want everything, and Auslogics if you want something more or less the same as Defraggler, but faster. And PerfectDisk if you want something reliable you can set and forget on your biz servers. We ran PD on our intranet server at work for years without a problem.

   Review - Process Explorer

   Seriously, the graphs look like crap now. Was this all they changed? Was it really worth the major version number jump? Returning to the previous version until they fix it. And yes, I switched it to black. Also, they need to add some sort of text to the graphs in the toolbar indicating exactly what they are. Now there's seven of them and if you haven't memorized their positions and colors you got no chance of knowing what they represent unless you hover over them.
   
   Bryce Mikoyan and Mark Guryevich might be great programmers but they seriously need a UI consultant. They just lost a star.

   1) Teracopy is free. 2) It works perfectly. 3) FastCopy's GUI looks like Jackson Pollock threw up all over it.

   Review - XYplorer

   9.90.1000 (May 24, 2011)

   Not a bad program, but $42 is incredibly overpriced for what you get. Best free alternatives are Qdir (http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Freeware/Q-Dir) and the opensource Explorer++ (http://www.explorerplusplus.com/). Best commercial alternative is Directory Opus, by a country mile.
