Visual IRC is a Windows IRC client with many features: TurboDCC, video conferencing, voice chat, email and telnet clients, and you can even code in your favorite language.
- You can now select all text in the input box with Ctrl+A
- The script editor's event properties page now has a button to select from some common event masks
- You can ignore or unignore users from the nick list popup
- New alias: /squery
- New function: $IsIgnoringNick(nick)
- The tab bar has been moved to a binary plugin, vp_tabbar.bpl. This will allow the tab bar to be replaced in the future, but some of the tab bar configuration settings have been disabled in this version

mIRC (not free) or Miranda IM (free) are a lot better, especially if you are new to IRC.

I have to agree, this don't even come close to mirc in ease of use and stability.
Reviewing 2.0 RC2 (Mar 25, 2002)
vIRC was a good IRC application, because it had multi-server support long before mIRC, it even convinced me once to change software, but then the original author dumped the program and mIRC got native multi-server support, so now i'll stick with good old mIRC...
Reviewing 2.0 RC2 (Mar 24, 2002)
not too bad.... but mirc will always be best (accept v6x ;/)
