webcamXP is a powerful webcam utility that allows you to share your webcam with everyone without having to set a web server on your computer. The web server is integrated to the software and needs only a few configuration parameters such as server port and local directory.
webcam 7 is a brand new product based on webcamXP. The user interface is the same however it offers exciting enhancements such as : Flash Video (FLV) audio and video streaming (high frame rate for low bandwidth) and MJPEG recording with audio support.

This program is effectively sharware as you have to pay if you want to remove their watermark, and access any of the advanced features.
If you want a truly free, powerful webcam program the give ManyCam (http://fileforum.betanew...il/ManyCam/1169547197/1) a try. I've been using it for several months now and love it...

You get a choice what mode to use it in, FREE or Pro etc.
The free mode limits you to one camera, for free that seems reasonable to me.
Nice product, easy to use.

It's not freeware, it's shareware I say this based on the watermark/logo added to every image/videos captured Windows 7 at the bottom left. To remove the watermark you have to buy to pro version. So shareware.
I found this version to be a bit buggy sometimes when I would try to click on one of the menu options the program would hang for a bit.

Freeware is a step in the right direction, but for simple use of your webcam you can get the same functionality with open source (free) apps.
