Even though this is supposedly free for private use, it will nag you each and every time you try to resize a picture. What a joke.
1.0.17.0717 (Aug 11, 2009)
- Setting start / endpoints is not very precise, the tip of the arrow isn't even exactly where the selection will begin
- No waveform view to help setting the correct cutpoints
- Test playback buttons are flawed, the "Play selection" often plays stuff outside the selection
- The whole program is flash based and comes with a flash*.ocx file with known security vulnerabilities
- Only fade in possible, no fade out
3/5 points. Gets the job done, but could be so much better, especially since this is not even free. Can't really recommend it therefor.
9.1 Build 3567 (Jun 6, 2009)
Version 9.1 is incredibly buggy, and they are charging about 80% of the full price to upgrade from 9.1 to 9.5. Can't really recommend this anymore :-(

Good program, but the duplicate detection engine needs some serious work. To check my sample of 232GB for duplicate files CloneSpy took 17minutes and read 53GB of data from the Harddisk.
Duplicate Cleaner v1.2 (also a free program) on the other hand also gets the job done within 7 minutes while reading 15,2GB of data. Since CloneSpy did not find any additional duplicates that Duplicate Cleaner v1.2 had not already found, CloneSpy's engine must have some efficiency drawbacks and probably needs a rewrite...
1.2 (Sep 27, 2008)
Very fast (uses checksums the way they are supposed to be used), works as promised. Works fine (even) in Vista64.
