  2. Review - Viewpoint Toolbar

    2.6 Beta (Mar 12, 2005)

people don't install this toolbar themselves. it gets installed for them automatically. that's spyware in my book. why is this even on betanews?

  3. Review - AOL Instant Messenger for Windows

    5.5.3599 (Jul 1, 2004)

For the past few years, AIM's directory search 'find a buddy by common interest' has been broken. It displays a cluster of 100 names in alphabetical order, most of which are offline. I called AOL to ask about this, but they refused to answer questions about AIM and tried to sign me up for AOL, stating that they strictly do not support AIM.

  4. Review - DVDIdle

    3.68 (Jun 6, 2004)

maybe if this software has a suite of dvd related features, i would consider paying for it. i cant imagine anyone paying $20 for a piece of software that's supposed to supplement $30 hardware in such a useless way. how about a region free feature? or maybe something that tells me how much life is left in my drive or if my dvds are detereorating?

"I have been fighting 3 years with them to completely remove all my information from their servers, which they swore they did, but of course never did."

I hate people like you. I used to work at circuit city, and every now and then, someone would flip out because their 5 year old address or phone number was found to be stored in the system. They'd make a big fuss demanding that it be removed. Yet, there was nothing that could be done. You think amazon will ever delete your personal information? Newegg? Verizon? Get a clue. When you give someone information, they keep it forever.

    6.15 (Mar 29, 2006 - 8:24 PM)

what's the problem here? sony players have had this option for years. it's called avls. automatic volume limiting system. a little switch that makes the max volume not too high. it's just a feature. calm down.

what are you talking about? the ipod doubles as an external hard drive just fine. it just needs a frontend to load music. i use ephPOD and it works great copying mp3s to and from my ipod. i carry a copy of it in case i want to share my music or take someone else's. i didnt like the way the ipod organized music at first with its id3 system, but i got used to it.
