AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) should be used because e-mail just isn't fast enough sometimes. This convenient, add-on to your system lets you communicate one-on-one or in a group with family, friends, and business associates who also use it. Finding people online can be easy too. Use the Member Directory to locate friends by name or by e-mail address.

The above link did NOT take me to the 7.5 download. It gave me the new AIM 1.0.

There are far better messaging clients out there than this program that have been mentioned below - You can do better than AIM.

@Input Overload
You clearly have no idea what your talking about. Also, since when does AIM destroy a persons computer? Beta or Not. That's just stupid.... Plus there are "apps" available that remove Ads from this program.
Reviewing 7.5.8.2 (Jan 8, 2011)
I'm disappointed in AOL - this version doesn't ask your permission, it just installs its toolbar and hijacks your browser homepage settings.
This is a major change from previous releases, and one that leaves me unable to recommend that you install it. There are better multi-platform clients such as Digsby or Trillian out there, and they're honest about what they install.

Hey you two, this isn't a chat room so stop it.
For the people who like and need using IM software, This is a good application. I just don't need it myself and uninstalled it after testing.
I found nothing wrong with the program.
