Shockwave works pretty well. It wouldn't be my first choice for creating on-line content but as a client it works and it doesn't bork my machine. Uninstalls clean too. Not bad.

Shockwave is a dying format, flash is ok.. and I think javascript will rule them both. Check http://ejohn.org/blog/processingjs/ for examples of how js is taking on many of the areas that were formerly shockwave/flash only..

Well I don't see any 64bit release , if Microsoft pays them then they would make 64bit...
Windows7 comes in 2012 for public release and if other programmers don't make revolutionary software for that, then you might never get what you wish...

tscar13 clearly browses the web with Netscape Communicator 2. For the rest of us who experience the normal bells and whistles of the World Wide Web with a bit more graphical pizazz on a daily basis, Shockwave is both a blessing and a curse, but it is ubiquitous no matter how you look at it.
