Detection rates are still excellent as ever. I don't appreciate not being able to remove the http and email filter as in 2.7. The http filter still seems to proxy connections even when the filter is stopped.

ok i admit is a good av BUT it makes my firewall useless! the net is filled with faqs saying you can aviod proxying through nod, but aitn true ... beside ppl complaining abt it being heavy on the resources, are you on p2? with 128 mb ram?

Best Antivirus for any Windows 32/64-bit, vista/xp if you have a laptop and needs a firewall and antispam, then eset smart security is a better choice NOD32 3.0 havnt had any problems on my systems, everything runs fine, i love esets small notifies about virus updates, they are sweet and it tells you the antivirus is up-to-date, without any naging like other antivirus products from other companys.. Esets updates antivirus definitions twice or more a day, so you might get new antivirus definitions 3-4 times a day! here is link to updates infomation http://www.eset.com/support/updates.php antivirus definitions size is not big, nearly all are under 2MB NOD32 & Smart Security does not use much resources, if you manual scan, then it uses much cpu, but when it runs in the backgrond it takes less than 40MB memory, 0-2% cpu i recommend turn off Advanced heuristics, Potentally unwanted applications, Potentally Unsafe applications in Antivirus and antispyware > Real-Time file protection > Enable real-time file system protection > setup > Options if you have high cpu usage when nod32 is doing real-time scan more than one license is cheap compared to other antivirus products from other companys Am so happy with NOD32 since i bought four 2 year licenses in 2007 Infact am realy happy, i become a reseller since last week!, so more people have to buy or atleast try Eset's ( eset is a hidden-secret in the industry) products! i recommend NOD32 Antivirus for PCs and workstations behind a firewall or routers i also recommend Eset Smart Security for Laptops and people that dont have router and only have a modem why i recommend this is that your laptop will be more secure to have esets firewall in smart security, and antispam is good

I love this program. The primary reason I was in the market was that antivirus software I was using (Symantec) was killing my beefy system (Core2 Duo 2.2/4G RAM) in CPU utilization and file access times. I tried other solutions but NOD32's performance blew me away and I was hooked when I realized how much more effective it was at detecting malware. Full scans are several times faster than any scanner I've ever used. It's entirely unobtrusive unless it is alerting me that it has updated definitions (which seems to happen multiple times a day) or when it has found a possible violation. It's discovered oodles of malware that got past Symantec, McAfee and ClamAV scanners and were already stored on my systems. It's even captured attempted compromises from websites (javascript exploits/CDRF). The interface is minimal and clean but could use some work on useability.
