"I didn't want to bloat it up and do some big integration thing." = "I didn't want to spend more than an hour on it."
Give me a break, OK? Adding a few simple features won't "bloat it up". What a totally misused term that is these days. If an executable takes up more than 2 MB on disk, it's "bloated". Or no, errr, maybe "bloated" refers to an application that takes up more than 2 MB of RAM while running... Man, I can never keep my senselessness straight.
OperaAdFilter doesn't need to be running all the time. And look at Ad Muncher--a great, well-featured ad filter, which is under 200 KB on disk, including the EXE and two supporting DLL files.
So give me a break with this "bloat" cop-out. If you don't want to spend another hour on it, fine.

Very simple, very small, and does what it says it will do! Good enough for me. :)

Honestly, I wrote this puppy in like an hour as a resource for myself to block ads faster in Opera. I figured someone else could use it, so I released it. Heck, the website, flash movies, and all that jazz required a lot more time than it took to write it. However, I didn't want to bloat it up and do some big integration thing. Simplicity was the way I wanted it. :)

You guys really need to get a grip. Stop rating software you don't understand, and haven't used. All OperaAdFilter does is put a front-end on Opera's BUILT-IN content-blocking feature, which is provided NATIVELY through a file called filter.ini.
So, there is no issue with a "one-browser" utility, since the core functionality is provided by the browser itself.
And Opera's filter.ini functionality does NOT block the Opera ad banner, it blocks specified web page content only.
Man, I'd be really aggravated if I were the author, with all these clueless and unfair ratings and comments being vomited up here.
I give OpeaAdFilter a mediocre review not because I'm a nitwit who didn't even download it, but because it is really simplistic, and not very thoughtfully designed. OperaAdFilter could offer to add a custom menu item to opera6.ini (i.e. "Send to OperaAdFilter..."), it could have a toolbar or menu item that let you paste URLs, rather than simply watching the clipboard, and it would be really nice if it didn't blow away all your custom filter.ini entries whenever you download a new list from the server.

Personally, I find it questionable to remove advertisement that keep your software free. Killing annoying flash and popups is one thing, killing banner ads is another...
