Registry First Aid scans registry for orphan file/folder references, finds these files or folders on your drives that may have been moved from their initial locations, and then corrects your registry entries to match the located files or folders. In addition, if your registry has links to files of deleted applications, it will find these invalid entries and remove them from your registry. Your Windows registry will be always clean and correct, helping your programs load faster and speeding up your computer.
- Fixed bug: on some computers RFA raised error when compressing the registry
- Fixed bug: last registry scan date was not remembered if no search for correction was done
- Setup will now detect previous major version installed and ask if user wants to uninstall it
- Fixed bug: "Restore from .reg files" window did not load it's size and position from common settings
- Fixed bug: "Legend" window did incorrectly show "search" image at the "safe" risk level item
- Fixed bug: Platinum features were not shown in registered standard version and cannot be enabled from the Advanced Settings
Reviewing 8.0.0 (Oct 26, 2010)
Windows' registry concept and implementation are utterly broken.
No application can change it.
Reviewing 7.1.1 (Oct 21, 2009)
This gave me a BSOD ! and I had to restore from a back up..
Reviewing 6.0.0 (Apr 2, 2007)
Very reliable, I have used it regularly for years. Last version has an improved interface, Registry defragmenter, Vista compatibility (I cannot check this).
Reviewing 5.0 (Jul 6, 2006)
The new version has a better GUI.
It found 275 mistakes in my registry and defrag it up to 20%.
I personally like it.
