Please NEVER buy or support WinZip.
They are liars, cheaters and crooks.
WinZip reneged, cheated, lied, fooled, and screwed their customers by promising that they will provide "LIFETIME" free updates and upgrades, then went back on this promise.
I will never buy any sh*t from this evil company.
    Shame on WinZip.
WinZip can go to hell. They also have the chutzpah to ask $50 for their Pro version.
In fact even a score of 1 is too high, as WinZip deserves a big ZERO.
If you want the best software, then get WinRAR from www.rarlab.com, it is only $29.
I also recommend these 2 programs, both are better than WinZip and are FREE:
    7Zip @ http://www.7-zip.org
    PeaZip @ http://peazip.org

Garbage. After supporting this software for ten years I dumped it for 7-Zip. WinZip now installs a toolbar into your browser. Who wants that? WinZip is also trying to get you into the cloud. Any security conscious person knows how private that is. So they want you to pay to get data mined by not only using the cloud, but with the damned useless toolbar. Those greedy buggers ruined a good product. Get 7-Zip or anything else but WinZip.

@operaspurs - You are fully entitled to your opinion ~

My opinion WZ is expensive, intrusive & all the reasons 'operaspurs' loves it are the same reasons I dislike it deeply.

'It adds a link to your email and stores the file on the zipsend server ready for download. ' ~ Does any sane person really want this? ~ I know don't ~

    Indésirable cher

I'm surprised they still make this. Winrar is superior, but really... if you want something that is pretty much all around and FREE... 7zip.

Well, it amazes me how many techies get soooo upset by winzip. Let's be clear; winzip does something that everyone else doesn't! They integrate beautifully into the windows interface. WinZip the software reads everything and writes to zip and zipx. It encrypts on the fly, and with the latest version of Courier, it integrates large file uploads with a click. It integrates with Outlook's ribbon, and with Gmail, Yahoo mail, and Hotmail completeley seamlessly. It adds a link to your email and stores the file on the zipsend server ready for download. Now, I know very well that all of this can be done manually, and if you are very tech savvy, it's easy. For most people in business, this is all a Faff, and the ability to just click once or twice and have it all done automatically is really terrific. With the speed of the internet now, rar and zip files have not got a huge difference. I have used winrar for a long time, and winzip too. But for ease of use, seamless and excellent integration - winzip really do the job well. I know that they may be only after money - so what? Isn't everyone with their software? Of course they are. Of course the free zippers and the paid for winrar do the job, but the interface of winrar is ugly and not completely user-friendly (for non techies) andI believe you get what you pay for, and actually, for business, Winzip and Courier are excellent.
